What’s up, HQ?! I’m currently on winter vacation but did catch enough of that frustrating loss from last night’s Warriors-Heat game to know that these Dubs must be ready to go on vacation themselves.
Also, I just watched Jingle All The Way with Arnold Schwarzenegger and it’s one of the most underrated Christmas movies of all time. I will now use gifs from that film to underscore how enraged I am by this defeat to Miami.
ESPN Recap:
Tyler Herro had 26 points and seven rebounds to help the short-handed Miami Heat beat the Golden State Warriors 114-102 on Thursday night for their fourth straight victory.
Star forward Jimmy Butler sat out his fourth straight game because of a strained left calf, while Kyle Lowry (soreness), Caleb Martin (sprained right ankle) and Josh Richardson (back discomfort) also were unavailable for the Heat.
“It's just a testament to our gratitude, the guys' next-man-up mentality,” Herro said. “Just coming in here and being able to fulfill guys that are out, being able to fulfill those spots.”
Michael Wagaman: “Steph's off night vs. Heat magnified as Warriors go cold around him”:
For the second game in a row, Curry failed to score in the first quarter and struggled all night with his shot. The two-time NBA scoring champ finished with 13 points – his second-lowest total of the season – while connecting on just 3 of 15 shot attempts.
That continued a pattern that has been building for the two-time NBA MVP. Curry was 7 of 21 from the floor in the Christmas Day loss to the Denver Nuggets and has made just seven of 28 3-point attempts over his last three games.
“It wasn’t his night,” Kerr said. “This is all part of an 82-game season where guys are going to have some tough nights and tough stretches. I’m not worried about Steph, that’s for sure. It was just a night where we couldn’t get anything going.”
Sooo Tyler Herro scored twice as many points as Steph Curry huh? Yeah we’re just gonna keep it moving on that game. Be safe this holiday weekend folks!
Thought exercise time:
Assuming CP3, Šarić and GP2 are bench players and not in the mix, pick your primary lineup from these two choices:
Steph and the YGs (Podz, Moody, Kuminga, Jackson-Davis)
Steph and the OGs (Klay, Wiggins, Draymond, Looney)
Wow.
Arigato, samurai Podziemski-san. Put away your wakizashi, there’s no need to do seppuku to save your honor. Emperor Lacob says: keep your katana. He who fights and withdraws, lives to fight another day (this was Demosthenes, but no matter).
What a personality this kid. A rising sun on the headband, why not?
