One piece of minutiae from this game: The play where Podz and TJD connected for a lob was a type I sort of associate with Trae Young (though a bunch of other guards do it) where, out of the pick and roll, they take it deep enough into the paint that they're within floater range, and then they throw the lob using the same form as they would for the floater. At least on tv, there's a split second where you can't tell whether they've shot the ball or thrown a pass, and it seems to freeze the defense for the same reason. I noticed it because it's not something our other guards really do—partly because we haven't had a prolific lob threat for a while, but also maybe because they don't go to the floater as much from that spot.

Anyway, seems like a play that could be effective for those two.

Why is jk not a lob threat?

Celtics beat the Clippers 145-108. Celtics move to 22-6 and 8-6 on the road while the Clippers fall to 17-12 and 11-4 at home. It seems that the loss to the Warriors have woken up the Celtics, causing them to demolish the Kings and the Clippers.

The league contains fearsome foes- the Celtics, Bucks, Nuggets, and Wolves to name a few- but as a Warriors fan, I know that our team, operating at full potential, has the ability to beat any of them.

And we're just about a third of the way through the regular season. There's plenty of time for our team to come together, for youngsters to develop, for our sick and injured to heal, and for our disgraced to redeem himself.

No redemption possible. Let's be realistic.

Celtics up 106-81 after 3 quarters. They made 20 threes against the Clippers so far.

Celtics 90, Clippers 62

Coming back from down 17 in the 3rd to smack down this Cs team (even without KP) looks increasingly impressive.

“But the Celtics just missed open shots, while Steph kept making unreal lucky shots”

The Celtics don’t need to adjust. They’ll get there playing drop against Steph one day.

I could have happily voted for JK, and Fantom makes a good argument for Saric, but I went with TJD. His impact went beyond the numbers, which weren't too shabby! He kept making the right plays and being in the right place at both ends when needed.

I like to think I’m a good hearted person, not one to enjoy others’ ironic setbacks and the cruel vicissitudes of life inflicted on others. Mock the ways of Karma at your peril, that kind of thing.

But no. Instead I was hoping that the Dubs would crush the Wizzies, with JP giving a vintage non-2022 performance. And I got it.

I blame Steph the petty King for inspiring me.

Ran across a JK v. Wizards highlight YouTube:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cprlj0iVv3A

I don't remember him being so automatic on layups and dunks before - has he improved or did I just not realize this about him before? Maybe Klay and Loon have my standards skewed, but it seems like this year if JK can sniff the rim, the ball goes through the hoop, even if he is muscling his way in, getting bumped, or off-balance. Guess that is how he has 9-11 nights, but I'm enjoying not having to lament an easy 2 points that we didn't get.

Being a bit of a Kuminga fan, I still have to say: Washington Wizars.

He still smokes a layup or two, but it definitely feels like he’s both getting and hitting them a lot more.

He’s gotten much better about attacking when he has an advantage, instead of attacking the real big guys.

I voted for Saric because he really kept us in the game in the first half. Watching him is a revelatory. I think in the appropriate excitement about the young players, just how good he is is getting lost. He is often left fairly alone at the three-point line and is a beyond reliable shooter, every time they put a small player on him he goes straight to the Basket and scores through them and he is an energetic, defensive player tough. clearly with weakness. Hhis three points shooting also makes other warriors better as a big player needs to come out to guard him which opens up the floor and the basket

Of course given his skills and his minimum salary he is only a one year warrior, which means that the excitement for the younger Warriors, who will be around for the next decade, I hope, takes precedence for all of us. But when we are ready to seriously battle for this year‘s championship, Saric will be a key player

I love that when he gets the pass for the wide open 3 the expectation is that we are going to get those points.

I voted for Kuminga, because he was feasting on the Wizards interior defense last night. In fact, I like it when the Warriors score a lot of points in the paint.
