friend of the blog Joe Viray does some film analysis of the Warriors defensive breakdowns from last night: https://www.goldenstateofmind.com/2022/11/13/23457468/warriors-kings-defense-jordan-poole-steph-curry-draymond-green-film-breakdown

1) Kuminga engages with the ball, then stops when the ball is passed out; nobody recovers to complete the x out, giving up an open 3; kinda thing that must drive Kerr & the vets nuts

2) just a terrible, half assed defensive possession from Poole

3) Poole has his arms out, but is standing straight up & so can't react quickly when Huerter cuts

4) communication miscue between Steph & Donte (but also, neither is really the right guy to guard Metu)

5) is Dray overhelping here? and/or communication miscue between Dray & Steph

Meanwhile, Steph has been named the Week 4 Western Conference Player of the Week today. Well deserved!

Can someone explain to me why at least 2 of Wiseman/Kuminga/Moody aren't in the G league right now?? Bob and Kerr have both made it sound like they think that playing in games isn't that important for player development, could they actually believe that??

Not abiding all the Klay slander. Many of you would have called yourselves ride or die with him. Now’s he dealing with the side effects of coming back from two catastrophic injuries and two missed years, and everybody’s calling it quits on him. For shame! Dude will gradually look more and more like his old self. That is to be expected. Being his old self right away was never to be expected.

Not sure if anyone's pointed this out, but I sure thought DDV looked really sharp out there last night. Hustling, seeming to be in the right position, playing well on- and off-ball.

My main concern at this point is wondering how many more games we have to lose before it's OK to bring out the Princess Bride jokes.

Any word yet on who’s resting tonight?

Kept it close enough to hurt.

All I know is the Kings fan next to me got up and left for a bit during the second half, because he was that sure they were going to Kangz things up.

Turns out they didn't.

The Kings see to be more fact to than fantasy right now.

We got to watch a competitive game, and I think I'm going to save my ire for the multiple Draymond Klay-ups rather than the babies missing 3's.

One thing that’s worrying me about Curry’s situation is that by putting this team on his back game after game he’s sending himself into the Trees way too often. When one or two come crashing down on him he’s going to be out.

Should we happy excited or nervous that Klay is gonna lean in even more into whatever he is doing now. I choose to be cautiously excited.

"My belief is stronger than your doubt,” Thompson wrote on his Instagram story. “I PROMISE you it’s coming. And when it does, the floodgates will open.”

Look last year beli was horrible defensively, but he still got minutes at the backup 5 and we developed a nice chemistry with him poole and kuminga. Idk why the gameplan wasnt to throw jmg right into that role n let wiseman get garbage minutes and g league stints.

Yes jmg has played bad but to immediately take him out the rotation is kind of crazy considering all the opportunities we extended wanamaker and oubre in the past

So... they're 0-7 on the road, huh? Guess that means they're 5-1 at home! That's a pretty good home record! Just gotta get these role players playing better on the road!

I started to write my advice for Kerr, for what are we, if not basketball coaching savants who strangely never got the opportunity to collect 9 rings in the NBA.

Then I remembered what my once 16 year-old son told me, "Dad, I don't want you to tell me what I can't do or I should do. I want your support." Well, mostly he deserved fewer "shoulds" and "can'ts" and he turned out ok. And I'm sure Kerr and his coaches and the players are all engaged in deep thinking about how to win games and prepare for a powerful playoff drive.

I'm guessing, just guessing mind you, that they've thought all the thoughts about this situation that I have. Tossed some. Accepted some. Weighed the pluses and minuses. Made the decisions that they (and/or just Kerr, or Kerr/Myers or Kerr/Myers/Lacob or some other combination) believe will best serve the long term goal of winning a championship this year (and beyond).

So, if I'm not going to weigh in my no doubt already-thought-of-ideas-for-the-Dubs, then what is left for me? Just support, I guess. Just support.

Go Dubs.
