Last night reminded me a lot of that Grizzlies play-in game. A shorthanded, tired team coming off their biggest two games of the season falling into an early hole against a young team, showing off their competitiveness to come back and make it a game but ultimately just not having the energy to pull the comeback off. Some fans will say that last season's team actually sucked and they couldn't win with guys like Bazemore and Oubre, but I'd argue that they were a very good team post-Wiseman injury that ran out of gas because they were let down by the organization not prioritizing winning. At least last night the shorthandedness was understandable, but how last season ended will never sit right with me.

Liked seeing Lee back out there last night, thought he looked good. Hope his outside shot comes around, he's such a good player when it is falling. He's low key one of the best drivers on the team, and seems to achieve that almost completely with attacking his defender while they aren't ready. Still think they might have won that Grizzly game anyway if Lee never got his breakthrough infection, maybe even the Laker game. Oh well.

The level of JTA’s game now compared to this time last year is really amazing, he was struggling with his shot, playing Bazemore style impulsive handsy defense, and routinely leaving lay ups rolling off the rim, don’t have the stats (of course) but sure looks like a different player out there

It was frustrating but not unexpected to see Lee’s outside shots not fall when we needed them most last night, every time his game seems to really get rolling he loses playing time for one reason or another, I hope he can pick up some consistent minutes through the rest of the regular season so Kerr really knows what kind of a piece he’ll be in the Playoffs

Steph last three games - 14-42 from 3 (33%), 5-27 from 2 (19%)!

When he is close, Steph has been known to try and get the record out of the way, so you may be on to something about the hunting of 3 pointers. Probably trying to break it at home. That and trying to make up the deficit in a hurry.

I thought the Rooks would have been called up from Santa Cruz and this would've been a rest day for Steph and Draymond. Clearly needed to be a rest day for Looney as well.

Looking forward to them bouncing back and finding some legs before the road trip.

It's frustrating because it felt like it was right there and we missed it. Not sure why, but this team has felt so anti-clutch last year and this one it's demoralizing when a game is close in the last minute or two because you just know some weird shit is going to wreck it, like a FT miss into an open 3, or an 8-second violation, a jump ball, or whatever.

But on the other hand it's not so bad because we knew this was a trap game, it doesn't matter much for playoff seeding, and we just got the much more difficult and important one the night before. But nonetheless... you want to win 'em all. Losing hurts.

Sunday NYTimes Crossword:

4 letters - Steve with eight championship NBA rings.

And my first thought was Nash (I missed 'eight'). I know I know. I am having an off-night just like Dubs did.

Lesson one: after a heavy comeback, in the clutch minutes a team must use the bench players, not the starters. Anyone agrees? Curry might be the only valid exception

> I try not to tell fans how to feel

LOL Duby you might be able to get away with this in written form, but when you are on your vidcasts I love how your emotions are written all over your face. It’s so genuine and hilarious. NEVER CHANGE

It's my fault. I missed the game tonight.

Why did poole only get 23 minutes even though he was shooting good? Was he fuckin up on defense or something?

Sounds like I got lucky not watching this one. I think tonight I will just watch JTAs dunk on JaVale on repeat.

Was at the game. Warriors came out flat. No energy *at all* during the opening lineup dance before the game. We were yelling incredulously to each other every time Steph missed “0 for 8…0 for 10…” Stayed flat until midway through the fourth when dubs decided to play defense. Got very loud when Dray dunked. I thought we were going to win it. Then Dubs got confused and decided the refs were their opponents. While they were arguing with the refs the Spurs won.

Nice comeback attempt by the Clippers, but they fall short in the end and lose to the Kings 104-99. Morris was 7/10 FGs, and Jackson was 7/19 FGs, but Paul George was 5/21 FGs.

Just finished watching the game. Not sure why Kerr played Loon so many minutes. He was slower than his normal self.

Didn't feel to me like Steph was trying too hard for the record -- more like he was tired and shooting the 3 is an 'easy' way to make up ground quickly when you're losing. But he and a bunch of other Ws looked spent out there. I appreciate the effort, but it's tough to think they're heading into a tighter part of the schedule, and they are already tired. Would have been glad for Kuminga and Moody to be up and available to eat some minutes.
