Warriors lock up Clippers, behind Poole's 34 points (22 in the 3rd quarter)
Post Game thread: Four in a row!?
The Golden State Warriors have seemingly rediscovered their famed 3rd quarter moxxy, once again using a strong showing to put the game out of reach after halftime. Jordan Poole was electric, he had 22 of his 34 points in the third quarter and really just buried the Los Angeles Clippers. It wasn’t just Poole of course. Klay Thompson had a big double-double (19 points, 11 rebounds), Jonathan Kuminga played great, and the Warriors’ defense locked up the Clippers in a game that both teams wanted a little extra bad.
That’s 81-33 in the third quarter over the past two games. If you’re the type to keep track. According to the postgame show, this is the first time in the shot clock era that a team was down double digits at the end of the first half won by more than 15 points in two consecutive games. Historic stuff folks, and we are fortunate to witness it.
And remember, Stephen Curry will be back soon. Andrew Wiggins and Gary Payton should be back in plenty of time for the playoffs.
WOW!
Hopefully the good times can keep rolling, because the Warriors are back in action tomorrow night when they host the New Orleans Pelicans. It’s the Pelicans, not Pelican’ts, so you know Golden State is in for another tough challenge.
IF anyone wanted to make a bet that DUBS would beat the CLIPS by 20+ points while shooting 40 percent FG and 30 percent from 3pt, I would have bet against it....GO WARRIORS...
Once we get Steph/Wiggs/GP2 back, I hope it looks like the squad we've been seeing, but with:
1. Jerome → Steph
2. Lamb → Wiggins
3. DDV → 50% DDV / 50% GP2
This team is going to be nasty... if they can get healthy and finish gelling. If that happens, I fear absolutely nobody. I guess Giannis, Jokic, Embiid are a little scary... but honestly, I trust Loon to be able to sorta kinda handle them enough.
