Warriors Gaming Squad is in the NBA 2K League title hunt
MVP finalist Charles "CB13" Bostwick chatted with LGW about the squad's dominant regular season, his biggest rivals, and tips for 2K players everywhere.
Golden State Warriors assistant General Manager Kirk Lacob may have his hands full with the team’s hungry rebuilding process, but he’s already nailed one developmental project. Warriors Gaming Squad, one of the eSports teams Lacob oversees in his role as VP of GSW Sports Ventures, are the #3 seed in the NBA 2K League playoffs.
WGS rolled to a 13-3 record behind the leadership of Coach Mike Newton (previously known as a developmental coach for the Santa Cruz Warriors) and a formidable squad led by MVP finalist Charles “CB13” Bostwick.
I caught up with Bostwick on the eve of the 2K playoffs to discuss the team’s dominance and his individual desire to be the best. I was joined by my on-again off-again 2K teammate Thomas “Dr. Tom” Bevilacqua, author of “Golden Age: The Brilliance of the 2018 Champion Golden State Warriors”.
The convo broke into two parts. First we analyzed game film with Bostwick to learn how the 2019 10th overall pick went from averaging 11 points and 7 assists to a gargantuan 31.4 PPG and 8.7 APG.
In the second video we talked about his relentless drive, his rivals, and what makes his team’s chemistry so phenomenal. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, Bostwick hasn’t been home in months as he’s been quarantined with his teammates. Dr. Tom and I got goosebumps hearing him describe his Mamba-like fire to be the best and get that prize money.
Get acclimated and get hyped Dub Nation! The Warriors may not be in the bubble, but Warriors Gaming Squad is here to carry the lofty Golden State standard into the virtual playoffs.
