Warriors flexing all the way to Boston for Game 3 vs Celtics
Between Curry's pyrotechnics and Green's bullying, Celtics fans have a lot to be worried about as the series shifts back to their homecourt.
Have we seen the home team go 1-1 in the first two games of the NBA Finals and still somehow retain all the momentum? Apparently that’s where the Golden State Warriors are right now against the Boston Celtics.
Maybe it’s because the Dubs needed only three quarters to destroy the Celts in Game 2, one game after blowing a double-digit lead in the fourth quarter of Game 1. Or maybe it’s because of how terrifying Stephen Curry has been during these NBA Finals. So far Unanimous is averaging 31.5 PPG, 5.5 REB, 4.5 AST, 3 STL on 45% shooting, 46% (!) from 3PT range hahahahahaha
Or maybe it’s because the national conversation appears to be how Draymond Green is out here punking Boston and no one can stop him:
That’s hella funny that we’ve reached that same part of the narrative we had when the Cavaliers and the Rockets were in emotional histrionics over how Dray was stomping over their souls. It’s also curious because Celtics Nation, a fanbase that has historically employed blue-collar antagonists like Kevin Garnett and Cedric Maxwell, seem to be verrrry agitated by how Draymond bullied the life out of them in Game 2.
TUXEDO PLAYERS HUH? So coming in to the Finals, we were supposed to believe that the Warriors were soft and Boston was supposed to be the physical team, right? Hmmmmm…
After the brilliant way the Dubs responded after their Game 1 defeat, I’m starting to wonder if this series will be less like the underdog 2004 Pistons upsetting the Shaq-Kobe-Malone-Payton Lakers in 5 games after stealing the first game…and more like the dynastic 2001 Shaq-Kobe Lakers steamrolling the Allen Iverson 76ers in 5 Games after A.I. stole the show in Game 1.
Our guy Apricot also mentioned Magic’s Lakers stealing Game 1 and homecourt against Jordan’s Bulls in 1991 before Chicago won 4 straight to take their first title under Phil Jackson. Damn the Lakers have been apart of a lot of Finals where the home team loses the first game, eh?
I hope Dub Nation appreciates the opportunity the Warriors have. Their Western Conference rivals are scrambling to keep their pieces together before the sands of time run out on them…
Or flipping coaches in desperate attempts to maximize the allegedly elite talent on their rosters…
(Wait did Rudy just call the Jazz a Western Conference POWERHOUSE?! If they are a powerhouse what the heck are the Warriors? A POWERMANSION?).
At the end of the day, we can be pleased that our squad is not only hunting for a 4th championship in 8 years, but that we’re totally infuriating a fanbase that roots for a historically legendary franchise.
I THOUGHT BOSTON FANS HAD SEEN IT ALL?! I guess they’ve never seen Steph and Dray in title mode; they’re getting an eyeful now. HOW YA FEELING HEADING INTO BEANTOWN DUB NATION!?!?!?
I hope the rest of our guys are ready to help out Steph tomorrow night. I have a feeling he is going to see a lot of traps/double teams forcing him to give up the ball early. We’re going to need to make the Celtics pay for that early and often.
So, Tatum has 83 turnovers in the postseason, only 11 off the NBA record… and Brown has 60. Keep getting in those passing lanes.
