Warriors falter in Game 3 to tough Timberwolves: What's the storyline?
Dub Nation it's time to put our heads together and real time figure out what the heck is going on for this season's narrative.
This might be my favorite Warriors season of all time.
I know, we’re wondering what the metrics are and how I could possibly say that after that gut punch of a loss in Game 3 at home to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the second round of the Western Conference playoffs. Steph Curry on the sideline writhing in pain both physically and emotionally as his left hamstring kept him from going 60 on these dudes. With all due respect.
My gosh, for my dollar there’s never been a more beatable second round opponent than Anthony Edwards, Julius Edwards and their band of try hards.
Unless…you’re counting this version of the Warriors, who despite holding a lead in the 4th quarter last night with “Playoff Jimmy” Jimmy Butler and hall-of-famer Draymond Green, were out reffed worked. Damn. The Warriors last night started playing Prison Ball just to survive. You know what Prison Ball is? OH yeah, probably not because you never hooped for cigarettes during a rainstorm on Alcatraz in 1958.
Neither have I. But Prison Ball was something I learned playing hoops in Oakland when cats would stop allowing fouls to be called. It’s all about being more physical, and getting the ball in the net as close as possible.
I knew Coach Steve Kerr was from the 90s and all that, but when he unleashed Jonathan Kuminga and they started just running at the rim and throwing up whatever they could while screaming for ref’s to call something. I was like whoaaa this is the NBA’s version of Prison Ball.
Anyways. The Dubs lost. But Jonathan Kuminga had the game of his life. In a loss. Is that his fault? NAY I SAY. Here’s some Tweets that make me REALLY CONTEMPLATIVE!!!!
Did you read those? Cool. Now here’s where I’m confused. Are we setting up for the Warriors to go down 3-2 and the Warriors are saved by Steph Curry with a robo-hamstring? Like, my heart can’t take that. Activate the Hennessy Protocol.
So, what are your thoughts? I need to hear. I’m not sure what the exact storyline is right now. Is it Steph’s out, we suck? Or is it “Kuminga’s Ascension” that saves the organization and he becomes honored at NBA Top 100 for a 20 year career that surpasses Karl Malone’s?
VALKYRIES WIN preseason game in Phoenix 84-79.
From NBC Sports Bay Area:
"Put it like this," Dunleavy said of his father's playing days with a laugh, "Draymond Green would have zero technical fouls in their era."
