Having watched a number of his podcasts, in my view Timpf is good at basketball things like pick n roll. Timpf is not good at personnel decisions. He doesn't understand when to trade or whom to play as well as he thinks he does. This is borne out when later the ideas don't work well. He's been banging the drum to have the warriors trade kuminga for siakam or grant forever; he's also been saying that wiggins needs to be in the starting lineup, and that the dubs are sunk without draymond. None of those are facts and a couple aren't just opinions, they are opposite of true.
This. How does Siakam fix our issues? Whose spot does he take? Play him with Draymond, and you have the same issues as with Loon because Siakam can't space the floor. He's not big enough to help Draymond play small-ball 5. Hell, by the playoffs, I think JK will be a better defender than Siakam. He's already a better 3PT shooter and draws more fouls.
Then you get into contract status, age, potential for growth, what else we'd have to give up, etc. It's a terrible idea.
The issue with Loon offensively isn’t that he can’t shoot, its that he isn’t a threat at all. Siakim would be a massive offensive upgrade over him and put a lot more pressure on defenses (opening things up for everyone else). He’s a matchup nightmare for teams, would kill with steph in the two man game.
All that said, I still hate the trade. He’s just not enough of an upgrade to warrant what we’d need to give up. Feel the same way about Jerami Grant. Markennan’s a more realistic target just because of the lower salary imo, but dealing with Ainge is terrifying to me lol.
Siakim’s the better player right now, but he’s definitely not good enough to warrant trading kuminga + Wiggs/Dray/CP to match his salary. Would be a downgrade overall.
It’s funny, Embiid won the MVP last year despite pretty clearly deserving it less than Jokic … but so far this year Embiid has been the MVP by a wide margin, over Jokic or anyone else. Vote don’t lie?
So glad we aren't sitting here whining about how the refs didn't call the obvious foul by Tatum during OT, or complaining about Horford getting so many wide open 3's, or agonizing over what the heck was going on with Wiggins' butterfingers this game.
Also mega-relieved that Podziemski isn't looking at a long-term injury, and (to a much lesser extent) relieved that the injuries to Tatum and Brown probably aren't that serious. Always feels extra bad when a good player suffers an injury against you; the NBA is greatest when the best players play.
JUST VOTED FOR 1ST TIME FOR THE WEST ALL STAR TEAM. Made it easy on myself, the LAST 'SHIP STARTING 5 AS IT WILL BE THIS SEASON'S SHIP STARTING 5, AGAIN:
Guards: 4-ring GOAT, 4-ring HOFMer
Frontcourt: 4-ring HOFmer, 3-ring 5, 1-ring All Star/ROY
Shoutout to Klay and Saric's early 3s to keep the game within striking distance. Celtics were looking to knock us out of the gate and if it wasn't for those lifeline shots they probably would have gone up by 25+
Yes, absolutely. One reason I love wins like this is that every little moment matters in retrospect.
Another example: On what was otherwise a poor night, Wiggins had two pretty athletic finishes in the 4th quarter, as well as multiple efforts at tipping in his own miss that ultimately led to a TJD put-back. The latter probably just went in the stat sheet as three missed shots, but his tenacity did pay off for the team.

Celtics up 113-90 after 3 quarters. Celtics outscored the Kings 39-24 in the 3rd Q.
Celtics are carving up the Kings.
10 blocks for the Celtics! 3 by White, and 6 by Porzingis.
Boston-Sac game is a high scoring one. 74-66 at the end of the first half. Sheesh.
It's raining threes over there.
Fox: 6/8 threes
Murray: 2/6
Lyles and Ellis: 2/4 each
White: 5/6
Pritchard: 4/7
Porzingis and Holiday: 2/3 each
The "Curry Effect"! GOAT!
Oh wow. Clippers are 17-10 and on a 9-game win streak. Mavs are now 16-11.
Yup, Clippers are gelling and rolling.
Oh, look… Warriors are only a game out of the #9 seed already, and 1.5 out of the 8 seed. Prob catch these teams by Christmas.
I wish we could vote two people because both TJD and JK deserved it. But I went with TJD because he’s a rookie and this was his breakout game.
It's raining threes in Sacramento
11 in a quarter… single game record in range… for both makes and attempts
Bulls beat the Lakers 124-108. Bulls move to 12-17 and 8-7 at home while the Lakers fall to 15-13 and 5-10 on the road.
That's the IST champion Lakers to you.
Jason Timpf going hard for Warriors to get Siakam, but I just don't get it?

if it is at the expense of wiggins, I am ok - anybody else along with him - hell no
What is he, a Laker fan?
Is this an actual question?
I’d rather have Kuminga straight up than Siakam.

Yeah. We see that here all the time. Deal with it Boston fans.

QED (for a DUB FAN)
I did predict a Warriors win though I have to admit I was wrong about the "no drama" part.
Told you ;)

Also shout out to cp3 hitting 7 (straight?) points in the 4th after Steph got his 5th foul
