Steph is five points away from tying the great David Robinson for 42nd on the NBA career regular season scoring list.

seriously OT but I have never seen a more puzzling statement: "“I don’t think that’s not uncommon or unusual, everybody’s focused on Giannis,” Budenholzer said.

What? Uh-what? How many negatives is that in one sentence?

From December 8th but close enough. I think the lack of a legit backup center on the Warriors is a big issue that also is making other guys look worse than they are. It's the big hole on the roster and it needs to be addressed imo.

EDIT: Referring to the JMG part of this tweet, not KAT lol.

>> Wow! The audacity to question the journalistic integrity of an award winning publication!

🤣 That's gold. Daniel trolling, bragging and advertising, all at the same time.

I am rewatching the game, and noticed some (very minor) points.

1. Tatum got knocked down by Draymond ... Draymond also fell to the floor, and the ball went the other way on the fast break. Tatum got up first and picked Draymond up. Nice dude. I doubt Draymond would have done that if Tatum knocked him down.

2. Aside from Poole (who had a bad shooting game, but did some good things), pretty much everyone had a good game. Lamb was kind of meh, but that's about all you can complain about.

3. Kuminga is doing a lot better on drives. He used to go a 100 miles an hour to the rim. Now, I think he's going a little slower, and even coming to a relative halt when he gets close to the rim. Slowing down, combined with a little bump, is allowing him to shed a defender pretty easily and get enough space to go up.

An ode for DNHQ because I had some time this afternoon:

Oh golden one, carrier of the petty,

what is it that one win carries?

Is it knowledge of better play, or another way

to dunk on overzealous nay-says.

Perhaps the camaraderie shown day-to-day,

which we all know too fleeting,

can sate us while we wait

for Curry, Klay and Dray

to wonder our hearts and create

another storybook ending

While we watch these dudes host

another basketball champion,

others build steel structures, rust

bound with their teary-eyed copium

… and again Chris Paul lost.

Rockets beat the Bucks 97-92. Khris Middleton suffered an ankle injury in tonight's game against the Rockets in the 1st quarter. After being taken out, he played for a minute and a half before being taken out again and did not return. His status for the game against the Warriors is unknown.

I went over to CelticsBlog earlier today to examine the carnage, which is often fun after the Dubs beat down an opponent.

I gotta say, I was impressed. Very little complaining about the players they were missing (which I thought was a factor in their loss), and no whining that how they got jobbed by the refs (which they didn't). Just "we sucked" and "I don't know if we're going to be able to ever get past these guys." Respect.

Although TheDreamShake was way more fun to read in its heyday.

There's a Warriors fan who posts on opposing blogs all the time; he said last night that he does it because there's not very much interesting commentary on GSOM. I wonder if there are still a few people on the former site who are unaware of the award-winning excellence that is DNHQ?

Last night before the game my NBA buddies were basically saying, ‘well this is going to be a rough loss’. And I half heartedly explained all the reasons why we had a good shot at winning.

The early game was a back and forth battle with 800 or 900 lead changes until things finally settled down late in the 1st quarter. The Dubs’ lead ebbed and waned, and before I knew it I had chewed my fingernails into ratty nasty stubs.

In past seasons I would have been all ‘10 points ahead in the 3rd? We got this.’ But this year my confidence is shot. I worried and worried and wasn’t confident in victory until maybe the 5 minute mark in the 4th quarter.

My therapist has strongly advised the Dubs to run off a 10 or 12 game winning streak to address my stress. They’re worried about hair loss, existential angst, lack of interest in recent MCU offerings, and even, possibly, horribly, a distinctly noticeable tendency to only pretend to interest in vanilla ice cream. Do it for the regular sleep cycle, Dubs! I can’t afford any more pills!

I look at that shot chart and all I see is Klay’s huge cluster of missed 3’s at the right wing.

So proud of the whole team for that great win - mostly proud of Klay. I've shit on him a lot this season (and last) during his (long) stretches of bad play. I'd love to see him look like Prime Klaybot more and more.
