Dubs looked horrible most of the night, were understaffed, and still almost beat Denver. Aside from the load management loss against Toronto, the Dubs have had a chance to win EVERY game this year as all of their other losses were in games that were tight into the 4th qtr.

Looking forward to a return to normalcy in Denver on Thursday.

Start Porter in place of Dray for now please.

I’d like to give a shout-out to the chase center crowd. The Warriors were getting mauled at the half and the crowd could have mailed it in. Instead they brought the energy in the second half and definitely played a role in that comeback. Oh yeah and the team played with guys and energy too.

I'm looking forward to the Dubs bouncing back tomorrow. Adjust, and no one get the dreaded text as Steph described it (H&S protocols). Am I the only one who noticed him clutching at his stomach a few times yesterday? I know he was shaking off the taped up hand, but I could've sworn I saw him hold his stomach multiple times.

I would've liked to see the Dubs win, but after that first half..I'll call it an adjustment period, was glad to see them show some resilience and get back in it. Then you have to be perfect down the stretch, and they weren't. The turnovers, the fouls. I know some people were sick about the two for one 3 Steph took too. Yet, they still had a chance to steal the game.

Looking forward to having Poole back next game. If not I wonder if Steve will add Otto to the starting lineup for more shooting and spacing. Thought it made it too easy for Denver to cut off half the court on Steph in the beginning.

The Dubs (and the League) have a lot going on, so I'll be glad when they finally get all their pieces together and we can see what the final product looks like.

Like I have always said, Warriors better defensively without Draymond. LOL! That was a Jekyll & Hyde game. I would say the Dubs could use a little practice running the offense without Draymond. Maybe a little more simple P&R with Curry/JFK. With no Dray or Poole, just seems like Curry needs to assume some more traditional point guard duties (like not turning the ball over). But a very Warrior-like effort. Jokic is one helluva player. Without Green or Wiseman, that makes for a long night.

The team certainly started out looking discombobulated and it contributed through the whole first half. At the end of the 2nd quarter I saw Curry hold up a fist to call for the Klay Play, and of course they completely botched it, just ruined the whole thing and the result was a mess loosely in the shape of the Klay Play but with Steph hurriedly barfing up a stepback from near the hash mark and two guys draped over him.

Kuminga had some killer moves to get to the rim early, but the free throws obviously. Less obviously he got caught on screens and beaten on drives by Campazzo to create open looks. JTA & Porter looked kind of sloppy, and Wiggins and Steph looked totally scrambled for the first half. Bjelica by comparison just sorta disappeared. There were, as always, some frustrating inconsistencies with the refereeing, but nothing egregiously unfair.

Credit to Denver, they managed to take advantage of the Warriors' confusion on both ends to get the win. They played really solid switching defense in the first half which left a bunch of guys struggling to figure out what to do, and their plays on offense were fast and smooth. Jokic had a couple of his signature amazing passes. (The Dubs had a couple of their own—there was one in the 2nd half I really liked from Andre.) But part of the Warriors' comeback was that Denver mostly stopped making the tough shots they made in the 1st half. Only some of the credit goes to the defense.

Overall I like our chances in the rematch and doubly so if we get Poole minutes instead of Chiozza. Hopefully he doesn't look as out of sorts as the guys did tonight.

Where was Weatherspoon tonight?

I didn't like that starting lineup we had at all. Of course, Steph was horrible but you have to start him. I don't think JTA should be starting. Iggy played too many minutes coming off an injury. Steph, GP2, Wiggs, Kuminga/Porter, Looney/Bjeli would have been better, I think. JTA still needs to develop his game and coming off the bench will also energize the lineup. Am I wrong?

Props to Loon (and Bjelica?) for holding Jokic under 50% TS%, only 5 assists... I was a little sad for Joker that he missed his 3rd consecutive 20/20 game, that would have been quite an accomplishment.

I believe the Dubs are contractually obligated to have a similar record to PHX. Since they lost yesterday, we had to today. More importantly, Steph needs to break his slump soon. He's been tight with his record chase, so hopefully he can now play free and easy.

mmmkay so, this is probably a stupid question, but is there a stat that tracks field goal attempts _including_ those resulting in free throws? I ask because I use points/FGA as a rough estimate of a player's efficiency, but in a game like this that "stat" vastly overrates Juan and Kuminga's efficiency... They scored 10 and 9 respectively on 6 "FGA" each with a points/FGA >1.5, which is elite; but Kuminga, for instance, really actually used 11 warriors possessions to score those 9 points, which is not good. I get that FGA that result in fouls shouldn't count against one's shooting percentage, but it seems like it obscures the fact that that non-attempt still costs a possession.

A few random thoughts:

- I hate it when Curry is pressing to beat a record or hit a particular number. I'm glad that's over with for a while.

- I'm surprised Dowtin (offense) and Weatherspoon (defense) didn't get any chance at all. Why not one of those guys instead of Chiozza? That guy has to have incriminating photos of someone... I could even see giving some of Iguodala's minutes to them, crazy as that sounds.

- It was great to see Wiggs back on the court and really playing well. Yes, he was quiet the last 5 minutes, but I wonder if that has to do with his stamina at this point -- first game back and all. Anyhow, he was NOT the problem tonight.

- I like what Kuminga gave the team. His aggression on offense and his competent defense are most welcome. He does get tunnel vision going to the rim, but he also goes to the rim with confidence. A whole bunch of other guys were not doing that nearly enough. But work on your FTs, young fella.

- And speaking of FTs, it looks like the missed FTs got into JTA's head. I hope he gets that worked out soon, because guys who go 1-6 from the charity stripe and avoid finishing inside for fear of getting fouled are not going to get a lot of playing time.

- The silver lining in all of this is that the Ws held the Nuggets to 29 second half points. And after falling behind by 24, they had a shot at the end. They finished reasonably strongly.

Looking forward to seeing them bounce back in Denver. Go Warriors!
