It's interesting that moody is getting all the hype between him and kuminga despite moody not being that good so far through the season.

I love moody but right now his defense hasnt been that good, on ball or off the ball( expected for a 2nd year player).

He has a horrible assist to turnover rate right now and does seem quick to shoot a contested 3 instead of moving the ball and hes been atrocious at any 2 point shot.

Again I love moody and like how hes been playing it's just funny how different the narrative is between him and kuminga, I think if he didnt speak so well and didnt have a "mature" reputation hed be looked at as a chucker right now who's struggling on defense like the african accent Kuminga

Worst +/- this season:

Rui -87

Jalen Green -78

Jabari Smith -77

Jordan Poole -75

Norman Powell -67

KD -66

Kevin Porter Jr -66

Kenrich Williams -63

Wiseman -57

Kuminga is at -44 in much fewer minutes. That's suboptimal for the Warriors. And hilarious about Durant.

I wrote this yesterday and I will say it again. If the Warriors were winning games , Steph would be in the MVP conversations.

I don’t like losing, but it’s been almost all random ending games this year. Slightly different luck and everyone’s talking about how Kerr is a genius for managing the two timelines.

Dray and Steph look good. The young ones don’t look good (yet), I don’t like the youth-heavy lineups, but Kerr is still experimenting. There is a lot we don’t see behind the scenes in practice, in attitude, in ego battles, in the coaching staff keeping up player confidence.

And I can’t stay mad about basketball right after a championship. (I reserve the right to throw my hands up and roll my eyes at any specific play.)

Curry got called out for taking a bad shot in the final seconds a few games ago. I don't think the fix is giving tired legs Klay 3 chances to close. Shoot your shot Curry. (Also fine w Klay taking that shot in 10 games when he has his legs under him.)

This is the big difference between working with bairly 20 year olds who have had little to 0 NBA experience or even college as opposed to a bench full of savvy vets.

The kids will come around and it's looking like 2 out of the 3 contracts we just picked up are well on there way but boy there are going to be some growing pains.

Briefly. I'm not worried at all. I liked the improvements of team D from the previous game and in game. The effort was inconsistent between quarters and between players, but I liked Wiseman in not falling apart after disastrous minutes in the 1st Q, and coming back with intensity and presence. After all, the difference was in three DD of Poole (Curry and Carry, the new backcourt), on the matter I have only to say that I feel some private report must have run between NBA officials, to take care of his peculiar handling, because frankly he carries a LOT, and if he played in Europe, he would be whistled 40 DD per game. Let's go Warriors, don't slide into Worriors, it's a game where experience is everything,, and we are experiencing.

My word, Steph…

(Per 36 min.)

31.6 points on .643 true shooting

7.9 rebounds

6.8 assists / 2.7 turnovers

Net +26.1 on-off

If you had told me that through eight games the GOAT would be putting up the best statistical season of his career; Dray$ would be averaging 11.2 pts per 36 on .633 TS; and Wiggs would be putting up career bests in rebound rate, ast rate, tov rate, scoring efficiency, and FT% … man, I would not have guessed we’d be 3-5 and getting our asses kicked by the likes of Detroit and Charlotte.

Klay, the kids, and the defense have been *that* bad. It’s rough to watch right now.

I think they’ll figure stuff out, though. They’ve earned that patience, dozens of times over. I still think they have the best nine-man playoff rotation in the league, or right up there with Boston and Milwaukee.

Putting it put there now: JMG is this year’s Oubre. The team will be way better once he’s gone but many folks won’t see it until it’s too late.

My game thoughts:

Curry is playing at a whole nother level, just absolute mastery plus showmanship.

Klay doesn’t suck and was actually awesome until running out of legs on his last few shots, but the game should have been won by then.

Draymond and Looney are awesome together, and with the splash bros. Hopefully the Warriors are planning to play Looney 35 minutes a game for the stretch run and the playoffs.

Wiggins was great until he got tired. Don’t waste his minutes making him cover for JMG defensively.

JMG just doesn’t give a crap about D. All his hustle and focus is offensive only. I’m 100% out on him as a useful vet. He won’t be playing the second half of the season and will be benched as soon as Dante is back if the coaches have any brains.

I was sad to see Wiseman live down to my expectations in the first half, but he was wayyy better on D in the second half and was actually pretty effective, so the coaches decided to ride JMG and Poole to the loss.

Poole clearly partied too hard last night and should have been benched. It has to be the punch that kept him in that game. Especially once it was obvious the refs were not down with his usual carry move.

Moody is actually an offensive minded gunner, not a D first guy. Keep him away from JMG.

Where the F was Looney in the 4th? Easy win given away so they could play JMG and Poole. You can’t even really call that a development loss.

Overall watching was really fun.

Kerr said the NBA notified the league today via email that they'd be putting officiating emphasis on dribble violations:

"What Jordan does is a carry, but the whole league’s been doing it. I guess I gotta start checking my email on gameday."

What archetype kind of player is kuminga anyways?

Regarding Wise (and JK), we have to remember it took Looney 5 years to be where he is today. It took Poole two years. Wise and JK are not celebral as Loon or beyond hardworking like Poole but they are way more gifted physically. So may be it all balances out.

We just have to wait and suck on Ls for now.

The catch though is that Wise and JK are way more expensive than Loon (and Poole) was.
