Isn't that what we want from Kuminga? Once in a blue moon, I see this kind of thing from Draymond but he seems less inclined to focus on this aspect of his game. Wiggins started the season with an explosiveness that thrilled me. It was short lived and I ask myself why? Of all the types of players, this type of player eludes us and has eluded us for years. Steph is the only guy on our team that attacks the basket but he is not explosive in the sense of a Kuminga or Zion. Will this wish of mine ever get granted in my lifetime? I'm getting old and would love to see this kind of player on our team.
That's like a bad-coaching contest. Lakers didn't have good three point shooters the previous possession, then put Matt Ryan in to end the game and NOLA decides to guard the interior not the perimeter, down 3. lol.
I grew up with the 'palming' rule. It was ingrained in my brain watching the Knicks and Bob Cousy as a kid. The refs rarely missed this call. Somehow, this rule got pushed aside and not enforced over the years. I'm glad to see it coming back.
Just an aside.........I find the challenge and the video reviews spoiling the game in the sense of timing. In the tennis world, their challenge is simple and graphic. No disputing possible. Of course, basketball is much more complex. Any brilliant ideas out of anyone that can suggest how to either minimize or speed up these reviews? I don't really want to watch 3.5-4 hour games.
Pascal Siakam, OG Anunoby, Scottie Barnes, Christian Koloko, Chris Boucher, Precious Achiuwa, Thad Young, Juancho Hernangomez, Bo Cruz, Khem Birch, Otto Porter… what is that, like 19?

I thought for a second Elon bought Substack.

I tried posting last night after reading Nom de Sab's comment below. Could not - paid subscribers only. Works fine this morning though.
Thankfully it was just a mistake that’s been fixed, per Apricot.
And just like that we're only 0.5 games ahead of the Lakers lol
fucking oof
Lakers-Pelicans game proved two things:
-Make your FTs.
-Always foul when you're up three and when there's hardly any time left in the 4th quarter.
(But don't foul a three-point shooter.)
With 1.6 seconds left, any foul on the person with the ball above the arc is probably going to be a shooting foul.
The trick is to foul them as soon as they catch the ball, but that's way easier said than done.
Lakers beat the Pelicans 120-117 in overtime.
It really baffles me how Zion goes left literally every time. A credit to his explosiveness and finishing ability that it works, I guess.

Except when it doesn't
60% of the time, it works every time

Lol Pels
Matt Ryan hits the game-tying three to send the game to overtime.
Lonnie Walker IV misses the three. Lakers foul, but the Pelicans miss both FTs.
Pelicans up 111-108 with 7 seconds left to go.
Must be a trap game for the Pelicans tonight. They're shooting poorly against the Lakers.
Well, not anymore. It's a close game now.

Third dribble here is preceded by a very clear carry. We calling this shit or what NBA?
Nooooo… we’re making a point of emphasis on guys we think do it too much, not the whole league!
I disagree. They should enforce the carry rule consistently or change it. Travels too. It should have been enforced all along.

Insert Iguodala’s Mike Conley travel dancing gif.
Background music: Ricky Nelson "Travelin' Man."
Lakers leading the Pelicans 56-44 at halftime.
I told you. I told that the Cavs were going to be fun. It's my favourite eastern team. It will be fun to beat them in the Finals ;)
How many forwards do the Raptors need?
Pascal Siakam, OG Anunoby, Scottie Barnes, Christian Koloko, Chris Boucher, Precious Achiuwa, Thad Young, Juancho Hernangomez, Bo Cruz, Khem Birch, Otto Porter… what is that, like 19?
Think they could just give us back Otto?
Perfect. 11 forwards, a center and 2 guards. What’s the issue?
Id glady take Khem Birch off their hands
