Trades begin Monday at noon ET; Lakers strike first in 2020 arms race
Warriors $17.2M TPE expires November 23rd.
Happy Sunday folks! Here’s some quick hitting notes to keep you updated on the NBA news. We’ve finally got a good idea of how this season is going to go courtesy of the scoop legend Adrian Wojnarowski:
That doesn’t seem too shabby considering the quick turnaround from the bubble playoffs and the tentative nature of sports scheduling during the coronavirus era. Will it give enough time for the league’s best players to fulfill their dreams of competing in the Olympics?
But that’s all further down the road. The immediate news is that NBA teams can officially begin trading starting tomorrow at 9 AM west coast time.
With the draft Wednesday and free agency starting Friday, this is going to be a jam packed week for transactions. Also, for those wondering when the Warriors’ valuable traded player exception was going to expire, we finally have an answer.
November 23rd? That’s a little over a week away! The Dubs will have to strike quickly to use it.
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Lakers and Oklahoma City Thunder have already kicked off the player movement extravaganza with a fascinating trade.
That’s all the notes we have for now, stay tuned for what should be a wild week for the Warriors and the NBA.
If we can get Covington to restructure his contract and put slightly more of his cap space into next year, we can hopefully grab Tucker/Covington for TPE + 2021 Warriors pick (which will be a late-round thing). If Harden is really pushing this hard for a trade, lets see if we can help them clear some cap space for a "move".
That Bucks starting 5 is looking mighty good all of a sudden. The Lakers as well. The Warriors have some serious competition right now.
