They’re 7-6, after 16 straight seasons below .500. Last night was their first win of the season by more than 7 points. They have the league’s #26 ranked defense.
Fun young squad with a ton of offensive firepower (#2 ranked O after last night) but maybe, I dunno, another win or two from being comparable to an all-time NBA dynasty?
If one were feeling cynical, one could also argue that it’d be perfectly Kangz-ian to snag a #7-8 playoff seed in a season where missing the playoffs would give them a shot at one of the great draft prospects in NBA history.
Lamb and Jerome are both better shooters than Andre and Kuminga, and maybe even Moody and DDV.
Lamb is going to be with the main squad by the end of the year. Jerome might, too. Lamb is a perfectly serviceable Walmart Otto Porter, IMHO (plays the 3 or the 4, in a pinch a 5)
I think Lamb's pretty darn good already, and smarter than foccaccia.
I think some people (not you) aren't aware that he wasn't on the training camp roster to start with. They signed him Oct. 5, so basically he's been with the team approximately six weeks. That's not a ton of time to pick up the system.
I'll bet he's not out of position much by the end of the year.
I saw this breakdown of the defensive mistakes against the Kings and the main guys are involved in a lot of them. They should have them ironed out in time though,
Thanks for that. I'd forgotten about the DLO/Wiggins trade. Too bad we blew it on the 2nd pick that was part of the deal.
I think there will be some changes coming. If they don't repeat, this payroll can't be justified except for nostalgic reasons. Steph should justifiably be with the Dubs till the end. I also see Wiggins and Looney as part of the future. I'm not so sure about Dray and Klay. Poole, of course, will be here.
I recall saying I would have done it (Moody was in the theoretical package as well), but once Sacramento put Haliburton on the table I doubt it was possible for the Warriors to get him.
I'm both excited for and appropriately fearful of these SacTown Kings. They look legit, hope they make the playoffs after like, what, 4 presidents ago?
Where were you the last time the kings made the playoffs?
Clippers Jazz and Grizzlies lost tonight. Kangz smacking the Nets around (though always dangling the possibility of Kangzing it up). Spurs and Trailblazers battling.
I gotta think the Spurs missing Tre Jones made a big difference because they basically didn't have a point guard against the Warriors and they looked like the worst team in the league
Also, they shot 25% from 3 and we shot 51% from 3 on basically the same volume. Even the best team in league is gonna have a rough time with that big a shooting variance.
Are the Kings the new Warriors?
I think they are more like Vlade's fever dream.
It's somewhat ironic that the team Vlade probably wanted (great passing center, great point guard) could only be built by somebody else.
They need a few defensive players to really be a reliable playoff team.
That said, damn what a great team to root for now.

Defense isn’t as good as 2015, but they entertaining for sure
The Kings have arrived! Charles Barkley on Inside NBA tonight proposed to replace all the Lakers games in TNT with Kings games.
Noooo but the Lakers bring joy to so many other fanbases
Warriors wings last year: Klay, Wiggs, Otto, GP2, D Lee, JTA, Moody, Kuminga, Andre
Warriors wings this year: Klay, Wiggs, Donte, Moody, Kuminga, Andre
fewer, smaller, less experienced
potentially a big problem come winning time

Lamb has played well, but he’s no Otto Porter Jr (OPJ was just *always* in the right spot)

You forgot Wiseman, who is actually a wing as AA pointed out. Lol
But seriously, I very much enjoyed that take
I have faith nobody is beating our starting five playing 40 minutes

LAMB CHOP
Maybe iggy can hit some 3s
I'm sure a lot of fans would be upset. It's an emotional thing.
Why is this Trae Young clip so absolutely fire.

Even if Kuminga flames out completely, Wiggins for DLo alone was an absolute fleece.
There was a proposal floating around last year to trade Wiseman+Kuminga+fillers for Sabonis. If only the Dubs had pulled that off....
I recall saying I would have done it (Moody was in the theoretical package as well), but once Sacramento put Haliburton on the table I doubt it was possible for the Warriors to get him.
I was looking for the snark tag (/s)
Agreed.

13-14 year old me would've had his mind blown, but not in that typical teenager way. Definitely a story to tell my other innocent friends lol
That’s borderline grooming.
Kings have scored 153 points tonight.
I had faith they'd get to 153, Abbadon.
I should’ve believed my own math lol
I watched the first quarter. The Nets’ defense is porous.
It got a lot more porous after that. 29 [?] - 0 Kings run.
Feel free to play some defense Nets
Yeah that ship sailed a while ago

This year’s NBA is chock full of surprises.

Um, I think we need to take the Kings seriously and not call them "Kangz" anymore.
I kinda thought Kangz was affectionate, like ‘Dubs’. It’s on the team to change the narrative of their season and the subtext of their nickname.
They’ll always be the Kangz.
You and SOL are right. These guys are different, and Mike Brown as a head coach is different. Both should be taken seriously this year
Yeah, Spurs definitely are playing much better than how they played last night.
I bet Kings were like, "Warriors blew out the Spurs? Then we can blow out the Nets!"
Kings on a 153 point pace. Yowza.
Garbage time will cause them to fall short of course.
I wouldn't be too sure about that. lol
Good call!
They had me worried for a few minutes when they couldn't score in the 4th,
Huerter and Sabonis are +42
Kings shooting 63% and 46% from three.
Nets: 43.2% shooting (22/51 FGs), 5/19 threes, 19/20 FTs
Kings: 63.4% shooting (38/60 FGs), 13/28 threes, 14/17 FTs
