The Golden State Warriors have lost for the fifth straight time in the row, most recently dropping a game to the Oklahoma City Thunder 128-109. That drops the Dubs to 6-7 on the season. Klay Thompson shot 1-of-10 from the field with 5 points, an alarming stat on a night where his fellow Splash Bro Steph Curry missed the game with injury.
In 12 games this season, Klay is averaging 13.8 points on 40% shooting, 32% from beyond the arc. Here’s his shot chart so far:
Wait a minute folks, I believe it’s time for another annual “Klay Thompson is in a shooting slump” article!!!!
It was EXACTLY a year ago that Anthony Slater penned this in an article entitled “Klay Thompson is in a shooting slump”.
Let’s begin with the raw numbers. They tell an ugly early-season Klay Thompson story. He has fewer points (181) than shot attempts (185) through 12 games. That’s the epitome of extreme inefficiency in the NBA.
And then here’s an article from the New York Times during the Finals in June 2022 talking about a Klay shooting slump, entitled “Klay Thompson’s Fix for His Shooting Woes? Unearthing His Alter Ego”:
The Golden State guard has turned to highlights of himself at his peak — in the mode of “Game 6 Klay” — to help emerge from a shooting slump in the N.B.A. finals.

You get the point. It seems like every year it’s time to panic about an anemic shooting stretch from the younger Splash Bro. In fact, one of my first YouTube videos back on GSOM was about Klay busting slumps.
Okay Dub Nation, let your voice be heard. Will Klay bounce back or have you given up hope?
The one millionth article about Klay Thompson in a shooting slump!
There are many things to worry about right now as far as our Dubs goes but Klay's shooting is definitely not one of them for me.
I'll ride with Klay until the end, but I'd be relieved and grateful if he'd get back to shooting like Splash Brother...
