I've been JMGs harshest critic - I have to give him his due.
And I'm not going to focus on the shots made - shots may fall or they won't.
What I loved seeing in the second half was his attention to detail on defense, his incredible hustle, and moving the ball incredibly well within the framework of the system.
He could go 0-7 next game but if he does all the other stuff the right way, I'll be super happy with him.
DDV is so damn good man. So consistent and solid all season, and has been an iron man outside of that early injury. He's basically our new Iguodala: one of the best all around glue players in the league. Gotta find some way to keep him through Steph's few remaining elite years
Yeah... we'd have to offer him the full TPMLE, with maybe a player option and a nudge-wink that we'd bump him up as soon we got his early Bird rights. And we'd have to hope no other team swooped in with a crazy-big offer. Most of the good teams that Donte would be interested in playing for don't have cap space, either.
At least we could comfortably offer him the full TPMLE, tho, which I don't think we can do if JP and Dray both stay.
Yeah. If Dray stays, GPII coming back soaked up any other room in the budget. DDV would be a luxury we can't afford at that point. I was having this conversation with someone today or yesterday.
As I understand it, we don't have his Bird rights, so the most we can offer is 120% of his deal for next year (when he opts out), which comes to $5.4M. That's not gonna do it.
Nah, we can theoretically offer him the full TPMLE, which next season is $7M. Not sure that gets it done, either, but it might get us close enough where he stays where he's comfortable.
But again, only if we dump some salary somewhere else, due to exorbitant luxury tax issues.
I'd call it the opposite of solid (nearly blew a 20 point lead, then nearly blew a 16 point lead, and can't ever seem to win a 4th quarter) but I'll take any win at this point.
I just cant shake the feeling of how f*** up coaching decisions have been with player personnel - poole is not fit to play in crunch time and Klay barely is too.
Poole is still in the process of becoming a complete player. He will get better, and his ceiling is pretty high. Klay is a lot better than you give him credit for. It's gonna be a wild offseason for sure.
Klay on Wiseman...Poignant and spot-on. Thought it is important to share it...I think y'all understand when you hear it.

Over 1000 comments on this post. Holy cow...
Well-deserved..
JMG up to .356 from 3 on the season, after shooting .207 in October and November.
Since December: 16/38 .042
Since Injury: 9/20 .45
Movin on up!

Hope his wrist is okay!
He's been awesome for a solid month.
Gotta love the assist totals tonight
7 Jerome
6 Dray
5 Klay, JMG
4 Loon, Wiggs, JP
3 Donte

Ultimate Kerrball.

yeah - we can - just get poole outta here
Only way I can see it working financially is if Poole is traded, or Dray opts out. Neither of which would crush me, tbh.

How would the trade work? We'd need salary coming back right? Would it be a DDV sign and trade or something?
Summer time trade to a team with some cap space. For less salary and picks.
Oh. So we don't have to take back salary as long as the other team has space?
You mean someone else signing DDV, and trading to us? That's clever, but we'd be hard capped. I never want to see that again.
Right that's what I meant. But yea that doesn't sound good.
Actually, I don't think it works anyway. We'd have to send back salary (so probably sending Poole out).
Can't offer him anything other than the MLE, right? I don't see that getting it done.

Not a ton of teams have that much cap space next year do they? And the Lakers seem fixated on Kyrie

And then early bird should be enough to be the best offer for the year after that.
I enjoy Poole a lot, but I feel ya.
Let’s not forget Jerome. He came in and pulled everything together.
Or like the 10th straight great game from JMG, despite playing with a jacked up hand.
Yes he did. Crucial during the change in momentum in the third.
Us going into the ASB at 29-29 sounds pretty right
But WGB30-28
Klay was streaky but did score 27 with a 59 TS% even though his 3 was weak sauce.
Wiggs at 61 (rounded up) TS%
Good thing we won tonight, because we're not winning tomorrow night's game against the Clippers who had THREE DAYS OF REST.
As of this moment, we are tied with the Clippers in tomorrow night's game.
I wish rust vs rest Rust wins
I wish they'd just sit Dray, and play Loon only a few minutes to keep his streak alive. Klay won't play.
It's an L.
Klay is apparently supposed to play.
Yeah, I saw that later ... we'll see. I'm glad they are trying to start ramping him up a bit.
Rest discrepancies do not guarantee wins for the better-rested team. Statistically we're probably talking like a 5-10% bump in the Clippers' chances.
Trap game for them then!
Tingus Pingus missed 4 shots all game but I feel like we played him much better after the 2nd quarter started
E1p! E1p! E1p!
Dray$ left his “must win now mentality” for later, I guess.
Must whinge now.
DDV: GOAT-ee
Very solid win.
I'd call it the opposite of solid (nearly blew a 20 point lead, then nearly blew a 16 point lead, and can't ever seem to win a 4th quarter) but I'll take any win at this point.
1-0 in the new GP2 era.
GP2.2?
GP2.2b - still beta testing this one.
I just cant shake the feeling of how f*** up coaching decisions have been with player personnel - poole is not fit to play in crunch time and Klay barely is too.
trade poole and maybe klay - keep DDV and get a good big in over the summer
Poole is still in the process of becoming a complete player. He will get better, and his ceiling is pretty high. Klay is a lot better than you give him credit for. It's gonna be a wild offseason for sure.
Capt Nemo has this sinking feeling....
Name does check out, good point. Thanks for being a hun.
On point, I suppose
I feel like we our win % is pretty damn high when DDV has a good shooting night
