Means everybody is bored out of their minds and needing any kind of Dubs fix they can get.

I know. I've read most of them. lol

At least our offseason as fans is much shorter compared to other teams. More than half of the teams in the league started theirs 2 months before us!

Basketball withdrawal, man. It’s real.

I think if the Giants were better, the may have pulled me in, but they’re not and I have issues with their largest stakeholder/owner, so they don’t get my love or money anymore.

Clearly what our summer team needs is a point guard, so I propose we trade for Kyrie, just for the summer team.

I'm willing to give the Nets Mac McClung and free parking validation for a week.

We need to sign and trade to make the salaries work. We can call him Max McClung.

Stephen Curry jokes about a potential top 70 finish for Charles Barkley at this week's celebrity golf tournament: "No. Hell no...as much faith as Chuck has had in the Warriors and jump shooting teams, that's the amount of faith I have in him"

Lol. Suck it Chuck

Barkley makes me feel a lot better about my game. That is one ugly looking golf swing. Goes to show you though that everybody (except Chuck) looks good in the highlight real.

Heroic effort by the SL Dubs to get kris banned today, I’m proud of them.

Rose-colored glasses on Lacob.

Three key quotes that are panicking people, lifted from the TK article, and my optimistic take on them after each:

Quote 1:

“I’m going to tell you your numbers are kind of messed up,” Lacob said. “You were throwing numbers out like 400, 500 … those numbers are not even remotely possible. They’re just not."

Joe is talking in the present sense. he is saying that for this season, those numbers won't be possible. he has not ruled out going over 400 for next season.

Quote 2:

"I’m already in trouble with the rest of the league. We are in trouble for being where we are. In fact, in Vegas there’ll be a board of governors meeting Tuesday. They’re not happy. It’s not just us. Other teams are going into the luxury tax now as well. ... You know, we kind of blew a hole in the system, and it’s not a good look from the league’s perspective. They don’t want to see it happen. And there are limits. I’m not going to say what they are, but there are limits to what you can do.”

I read this as he is saying the right thing for the upcoming CBA negotiations. In a way, not extending GP2 was also playing the part. he is trying not to alienate the league and owners away from potential changes that would benefit the Dubs' future anymore than has already been done. That means there's a possibility that once negotiations are complete, he no longer has to play as nice or obedient to league wises anymore, at least not until the next set of negotiations. Furthermore, if the negotiations break right, he may not have to play the deep pocketed villain anymore.

Quote 3:

“What I’m saying is to assume that we would go 4-500 million dollars at this time, it’s not possible,” Lacob said. “We’re not far from it. I’m just saying you can’t expect those kinds of numbers, unless we were to raise everyone’s ticket prices immensely, and I don’t think anyone wants that.”

Again, present tense. Not going to 4-500 million this season. Not raising ticket prices this season. Next season? Both may very well be on the table.

Expand full comment

Reasonable and not even all that rosy. I see these as just plain old spin and using the media to to try to lull asleep everyone else at the negotiating table.

I can’t help but be rosy because all those Dubs rings reflect the sun in such warming hues.

Ben Simmons had a crazy 2021-2022 highlight reel, I still can't believe we didn't trade the picks and Wiggins for him.

Expand full comment

A healthy simmons, kd and kyrie would be a formidable trio, and entertaining basketball, kinda sorry we’re not gonna get to see it

Expand full comment

In fairness to Simmons while the "I'm going to take my ball and go home" act with the Sixers was extremely unprofessional, you can't really blame him for having a bad back. And I say that as someone who thought the proposed trade was ludicrous even if he was healthy.

LOL that's amazing

Maybe 'cause Wiggs' Playoffs highlight reel, particularly the Finals bonus reel, were better...just sayin'...

@dino you should watch the video (1 minute) -- it's hilariously amazing

Both Kuminga & Moody had nice turn around jump shots and defensive efforts. Inconsistent as heck sure but these guys can do a lot, especially when they are playing with our top 7 guys.

Expand full comment

How many regular season games have we watched where teams stop playing their structured offense and defense late in games when they’re way behind? Loss of discipline is human nature. ‘This game is a loss, guess I’ll try to show something.’

Another takeaway is that the SL Dubs cannot defend in the paint. Something I hope they work on because that part of the game wasn’t pretty.

I think I’m gonna go check out this new movie “Not Without my Dolphin “

I enjoyed the first half. Moody showed a lot and the team ran some decent defensive sets. Kuminga showed some good bounce and D but obviously couldn’t find his shot. I saw what people like about Santos & McClung. Oh and Quinderry showed good effort. They fell apart at the end of course but still this was a good exhibition and practice for the guys.

It’s summer league. Rookies, 2-ways and a bunch of guys who will never play in the NBA. Light entertainment, nothing crucial here.

I was talking specifically about who they have tabbed to pick up Payton’s 17 mpg defensively.

But in a sense, JK and JW should be noted as well, as offensively Payton often played in the dunker’s role that will now be taken largely by those guys.

Expand full comment

Defensively, JK definitely gonna get opportunities as that PoA defender role.

Can JK develop his offense enough to play on the perimeter tho?

Sounds like a great enterprise, Sleepy....

Duh, is this the dumpiest SL squad we've ever fielded, or, am I getting senile....looks a lot like our free agent strategy....hopefully, a lot of last-minute surprises....

Expand full comment

They really lack a PG to organize things, although some of that is by design since they want Moody, Kuminga, and Santos to handle the ball more and work on their games.

Prepare for all the slander

Expand full comment

The thing is I just don’t expect him to look anywhere close to good in this environment especially when this is probably more akin to an extended scrimmage for him rather than being revved up for summer league

Expand full comment

I expect greatness. Anything less is a disappointment

Expand full comment

Personally, all I'm hoping for is no sore knee the next day. Anything he actually does on the court is gravy.

Expand full comment

This and a rebound.

Expand full comment

Agreed. I have zero expectations for Wiseman in his first game back other than to stay healthy.

Expand full comment

I just wanna see him exhibit a better feel for the game. If he looks completely lost on defense or offense again, that's probably not a good sign.

Expand full comment

Idk if I'd say that. A lot of his rehab didn't involve scrimmaging

Expand full comment

Kuminga will be fine, needs to get his wind back and shake the rust off. They were putting him on the perimeter where he needs a ton of work, it won't look as good compared to when he is just being a roll man or working in the low post. But that is what Summer League is for, same reason Moody is forcing the issue on drives.

Sidebar, some of Moody's best finishes as a Warrior have been during dead balls in this Summer League. Had a really nice one today where he stepped out of bounds first, and had this one in the CC:

https://twitter.com/gswcba/status/1543749107843362816

Expand full comment

He's inefficient and turnover-prone when given creation duties. We've seen this with the Ignite too.

He was tremendously efficient as a play finisher when paired with Steph Curry. I ain't worried.

Expand full comment

I found the one from today too:

https://twitter.com/warriors/status/1545601131606327296

They confused "no left hand, no balance/strength, can't jump off one foot" with "no touch" when evaluating Moody's finishing in college. But now he has more balance/strength, can jump off one foot and...still probably no left hand though.

Is that Kuminga slipping and sliding all over the place....lol
