Warriors star Stephen Curry has been diagnosed with a sprained ligament in left foot that will sideline him indefinitely, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. X-rays on the foot returned negative Wednesday night – meaning no fracture or major damage, a sigh of relief.

A lot depends on which ligament in his foot was involved. The main one of concern is the LisFranc ligament and to what degree it is sprained (sprain = some degree of tearing). The “indefinite” part is a bit concerning but may mean they are waiting to see how he feels. #DubNation https://t.co/BmkrPHHvYD

I guess it could have been worse, but…

Initial evaluation of Steph Curry's sprained ligament in his left foot offers optimism that he can return by the start of the playoffs in mid-April, but he's expected to see specialists soon for further evaluation, sources tell @ramonashelburne and me.

Assuming no specialists look at his MRI and says he needs surgery (based on the initial @ShamsCharania tweet), best case in general for Curry would be 7-10 days out with worst case 6-8 weeks out. Anthony Davis is nearing week 4 for his foot sprain as a comparison. #DubNation
