Curry goes for 46 as short-handed Warriors get it done against Memphis
Has anyone seen the Steph Stopper? I was told that he'd be showing up tonight?
Wow, wow, wow.
This was already a great game on paper, with the newly resurgent Golden State Warriors hosting the upstart Memphis Grizzlies (who were even nice enough to talk some smack prior to the game). But Stephen Curry and the Warriors were just too much to handle.
We will mostly spend our time talking about Curry’s big night (and rightfully so), but there is no way that this game ends up in the win column without key contributions from the Warriors’ big offseason additions. And by big, I mean one of the shortest guys on the team.
We will have a bunch more on this game tomorrow, but watching Curry shake off an ankle injury and go nuclear is like watching old school Hulk Hogan get the shakes before he whooped his opponent. We’ll have to see how Curry’s ankle holds up for the Christmas day game, but it sure did seem to light a fire under him tonight. He tweaked it late in the second half, but it just seemed to dial him in more. Wild stuff.

One day off. Then what was supposed to be a big showdown against the Phoenix Suns. Given the roster limitations for the Warriors though, and the impending return of Klay Thompson, I’m a whole lot less concerned about the Suns game as any sort of meaningful litmus test.
This Warriors roster is tough. Let’s get Thompson back in the mix and see what we have!

Steph vaulted all the way to #56 in all-time NBA scoring, jumping future hall of famer Dwight Howard. Next up: Jamal Crawford, Terry Cumming, and Tony Parker. Next active player is LaMarcus Aldridge, currently #46 and a smidge over 1000 points ahead.
