Due respect, I think you’re focusing on the wrong teams. The Wolves are very likely to win their remaining 4 games (3 of them are really easy, plus the Bulls at home). Which will require the Dubs to win at least once to avoid the play-in. The Wolves win last night on the road against the Nuggets was huge for them, and likely now forces the Dubs to win at least once in the next 5.

OT but I was happy to see Tim Hardaway and Manu make it into the NBA HOF. George Karl made it too. I know Karl's regular season record was quite good, a Coach of the Year award, a conference champion. His playoff record is not so great. But I hate to admit he's qualified, even if he is, because I think he's an arrogant ass. There, I said it.

Wow, in a battle of the bench the Clippers absolutely torched MIL. We've had some god awful defensive performances this year but I don't think we ever coughed up 140 or more

Pelicans beat the Lakers 114-111.

I'm not surprised by these results. I watched the game and at one point the Lakers had a lineup of AD, LeBron, Russ, Avery Bradley and Dwight Howard on the floor; suspect lineups. Think AD and LeBron lost their legs in the 4th quarter too. They better pull it together or their stars may be shut down for season by the time they play the Dubs.

If LA loses to Denver and Phoenix, while SA beats Portland and Denver, LA would be eliminated by the time they play the warriors. It’s likely that the warriors will have a chance to officially eliminate them.

Lets go Pels!!!

Oops. I typed 2 instead of 5 for the Lakers.

Lol. Last four games for Spurs - Wolves, Nuggets, Warriors, Mavericks. Can Kerr slip a bottle of wine to Pop to have Spurs try to win/loose these games based on which way Warriors seeding is trending w. r. t. to Mavs, Nuggets?

Would rather play suns than grizz in the playoffs

Expand full comment

Grizz are Strength in Numbers this season, no matter who isn’t playing on their team they find a way to win.

Expand full comment

Agreed. I think it'd be good to win tomorrow but if they do I hope to see lots of Chiozza for the rest of the season to help the Mavs keep the 3 seed lol

Expand full comment

Why not keep 3rd seed?

Grizzlies are at #2. If the Warriors and the Grizzlies make it to the 2nd round of the playoffs, I think the Grizzlies will screw the Warriors over since the Warriors struggle against the Grizzlies.

Oh yeah. I want cheese!

I'm hoping for a win against the Jazz and the Lakers, and a loss to the Spurs and the Pelicans (and maybe the Kings?) so that the Lakers are out of the play-ins and the Warriors take the #4 spot of the West. Mavericks schedule is pretty easy after the @ Bucks game, so they should take the #3 spot if they don't screw up for the rest of the season.

Oh look, the Suns’ daring strategy of “letting” the opponent keep it close until the 4th quarter — because ZOMG they’re so clutch — just crashed and burned in Memphis.

Think I’d rather play the wolves then the nuggets. The wolves have d lo and edwards who can single handily shoot them out of games by themselves, the nuggets on the other hand have crazy Denver home court advantage and are super fundamentally sound, everything is going thru jokic

At this point, I wouldn't want to face Minny's offense with our current offensive problems. Ordinarily, I wouldn't be concerned about either team, but the Warriors are not in sync, at the moment. One good game is not enough to get them back on track.

Denver home court isn’t as big of a deal in a series as it is in the regular season.

Bucks are losing big time against the Clippers. I believe it's because the Bucks played in Brooklyn last night and had to fly all the way back to Milwaukee overnight to play against a Clippers team who recently got Paul George back. Clippers played last night as well and lost to the Bulls in overtime, but they don't seem to be affected by the B2B as much as the Bucks.

We still have the 5th best record in the league. If we win out (I wouldn't put it past this bi-polar team), we secure the 3 and likely finish with a better record than anyone in East. I know the regular season doesn't matter (an excuse because Curry is out), but it wouldn't hurt to start balling out these last 5 games. Plenty of time for recovery leading into playoffs. And who doesn't want to see MIN upset Memphis in Rd 1? Not likely, but stranger things have happened.

Expand full comment

I doubt the Dubs win more than 2 of the remaining 5, and 1 or 0 wins is quite possible.

Expand full comment

Correct me if I am wrong, but since Wiseman has been declared out for the season, don't they have an injured player exception which would allow them to add a player to the roster without cutting anyone????

Expand full comment

The disabled player exception doesn’t allow you to add a roster spot. It just allows a capped out team to pay a player 50% of the salary of the injured player (or the full MLE, whichever is less). But you have to apply for it, and still need to clear a roster spot for the player.

Expand full comment

The cutoff date to apply for the DPE is January 15, and it has to be used by March 10, so we aren't eligible anyway.

I’m pretty sure I can free up a roster spot for the right player. Who ya got?

Wizards beating up the Mavericks big time. Apparently, the Mavs have a game against the Bucks this Sunday, so I think they accidentally looked ahead of tonight's game and ended up getting crushed by the Wizards.
