Rewatching this game has taught me something. If Steph had another pick and roll partner besides Draymond his assists would be better. Draymond was just blowing all the lay ups for nice passes. I feel his relationship with steph is lobsided. He gets all his assists from passing to steph who is a great shot maker but blows all those layups when steph passes to him. I dont even know who is more useless on making layups..
Q4.1.55. KD actually signals Steph to use his pindown screen, maybe to fire off a 14th 3. But Steph declines, and goes to the right elbow in HORNS. Then next play, he drives to the basket. He broke the record, and it’s back to the basics.
This is a really close game, which I guess I should have remembered because Steph is not going to chuck 17 three point shots unless the game stays close and he has to play a ton of minutes trying to score.
KD is having a crap game shooting — 3-12 on jumpers — but he is going to end up 8-17 which is not far from a decent shooting night, thanks to his ability to get to the line,
Steph is beating himself up for the unforgivable sin in Stephism: not getting off a buzzer beater heave
Q3.4.35. Interesting play where Dray can’t quite get on the same page as Klay and Steph. I *think* he wanted Steph to come take a dribble handoff, but instead Klay and Steph kept floppy screening for each other.
Hey, Q3.11.40. It’s Warriors Weave. They always ran it the same way, it’s a pick and roll for the last two players to touch the ball, usually Klay and a screener. Today it’s Klay-Zaza, but Klay rejects screen and drives instead.
Watching this game is making me remember that hustle/energy level that first season with KD was amazing. By the 3rd season, players were like "Whatever. Bring out the playoffs."

Okay, bed time for me. See you tomorrow!
Bonus note: Andre says in game he didn’t know the 13th three was for the record: https://twitter.com/thewarriorstalk/status/1241228245493665794?s=21
Game’s wrapping up. Steph goes out of his way to not shoot a 14th three. He points for ball to swing to a Klay 3 instead.
But fun to see KD’s enthusiasm, and Steph’s first breakout game of the new team.

Q4.3.00. Warriors Weave again. Klay gets trapped this time. Steph heat checks, 13th three!
KD and Steph celebrate.
Crowd chants MVP. It occurs to me for the first time that Steph at this moment is actually the reigning MVP.
I don’t quite remember how Steph fires off another 3 threes, because there’s only 4:45 left and Steph is getting double teamed...?!
Q4.6.45. KD with his second straight gorgeous pass in the paint.

Have to step away for rest of the game. Enjoy rest of the game.
Q3.9.30. haha, Steph setting a backscreen on Anthony Davis to spring Dray for a backcut. Steph looked a bit like those birds that sit on rhinos.

OF COURSE Steph took the long heave at halftime.
