Steph’s legendary trainer Brandon Payne. He’s very much *in* place here, given he’s often credited (by Steph and others) for Steph’s elite fitness and skill level.
OT: Is it possible under the CBA for the Rockets to apply to have Kevin Porter Jr's contract voided entirely so they don't have to pay him the $16M they're on the hook for this season if he is convicted? (He has pleaded not guilty.) The rest of the contract is team options, so they're off the hook for those, but this season is guaranteed. If there's some sort of morals clause in NBA contracts, I'd certainly hope felony assault and strangulation (and the victim suffered a fractured vertebra in her neck!) violates it. Otherwise, if Houston cuts him, as I would expect once they have their legal team sort out the process, they'd have to pay the guarantee.
ESPN Sources: After signing JaVale McGee to a free agent deal, the Sacramento Kings are waiving centers Nerlens Noel and Neemias Queta to give them a chance to play elsewhere. Both signed partially guaranteed one-year deals with Kings this summer.
Hope they bring in Queta, he always looked good against the sea Dubs. Not sure if Noel has anything left.. Also, wouldn't hurt to have a guy on the bench that is motivated to show the Kings they made a mistake.
Am I the only one whose fine with the new rules as layed out by the NBA? It still takes into account rest concerns to prevent injury but also prevents teams from just resting everyone on a single day just completely invalidating that game.
Teams will still have rest days for their players, it just won't be all at once which is much better for the consumer.
When you break it down, Draymond is clearly the most impacted player in the league by the new rest rules. Luckily he has a reputation that the Warriors can use to their advantage. Just have Woj tweet out "The Warriors are suspending Draymond Green one game for 'conduct detrimental to the team'" before a rest game and then fine him an undisclosed amount (1$) and they are good. Rinse and repeat.
If Green or Curry is forced to play, then play them for 5 minutes only for the entire game. Of course, Kerr needs to prepare the team as if neither one is going to play.
Curry (age), CP3 (age), and Klay (no recent All-Star appearances) are exempt from the rules, at least for back to backs. It's Wiggins and Green who are affected but Wiggins shouldn't be resting unless he's hurt and if he's hurt then he can sit out. So it's really just Draymond who has 915 games played (cut off is 1000) and is 33 years old (cut off is 35).
Jrue Holiday and Khris Middleton are also affected, but it's to a smaller extent because the Bucks have 30 nationally televised games to the Warriors' 41. AD also affected, but I mean, he's 30 years old and doesn't have near the mileage that Draymond does (like 200 fewer games played).
Only, uhh, uhh, Jordan Bell? (#20) days left until training camp. A lot of journeymen, failed trade steals (Larry Hughes), and draft disappointments (Ekpe Udoh) wore #20, but I decided none of them could hold a candle to Jordan. Unless you prefer two time NBA champion James Michael McAdoo.
Kind of telling that I can't seem to find any YouTube of Warriors highlights for Larry. Sigh.
This group did have me thinking about all the players over the last decade that weren't great, but were solid bench players on Warriors teams that got to the finals, and then did absolutely nothing after leaving the Dubs. Guys like Bell, JMM, Quinn Cook, Patrick McCaw (yeah, he did manage to win another ring, but not much since then), [Deleted: JaVale McGee,] JTA. Is this something about the Warriors system? Kerr's support for bench players that gives them confidence? Playing with Steph and Klay makes life so much easier? Whatever it is, glad to have had those guys along for the ride providing their small contribution to the dynasty run.
McGee doesn't belong on that list. He won a title with the Lakers after leaving us, was a key rotation player on a very strong Suns team, and produced a Justin Bieber song too.
My favorite Jordan Bell highlight was the two through-the-legs passes to Steph for made threes at Houston in the playoffs. Including the one where Harden grabbed Bell's arm and then staggered backwards as if Bell was illegally screening him and Houston fans howled about it until the footage game out showing it was Harden who was at fault.
As I live in the country which won the world championship I - obviously completely devoid of bias - say that Kerr did little wrong and USA were just beaten by a superior basketball country.
While this is clearly tongue-in-cheek, I am happy to see the world become more competitive in basketball.
So, Fröliche Weihnachten! (OK, it's Merry Christmas, but that's all I remember from my high school German).
I will, however, mark this down, and when my nephew's kids kids finally see the USA win a World Cup, I will have them taunt Die Mannschaft relentlessly.
I mean our core will be Steph, KD, and Durant. Yeah i think we win gold but ur statement can be equally applied to the U.S. because it’ll be awhile before we’ll be the clear favorites once more. Too much young talent internationally. Which honestly is awesome. Love that 10-12 teams will have an equal chance at a trophy in any given tournament
World cup. Swap France for Italy and after the 2024 Olympics any of these teams squads have a good chance of winning whichever international tournament ie world cup, olympics they’re involved in
It's true that Team USA was not the cream of the crop. It's true that Steve Kerr tried to coach the team as if it were the Warriors. Why not? They've won 4 rings with this coach and old 'habits' die hard. What other coach is able to change the way they've coached in their career? Coach's who have won rings bring in players who fit their system. The simple solution is to get the Warrior team to play in both Olympics and Team USA. Problem solved. But wait... Wiggins, Kuminga, & Saric, are not born in the States. Who would you replace them with?
I like this question! For me it'd be Booker, Lebron and AD or Bam. Booker is a big drop off in defense from Wiggins and probably JK, but more than makes up for it with his additional scoring. Lebron adds a huge passing threat and strength/ defensive instincts to be a terror with Dray, while I'm thinking either AD for his domineering presence would help more than the style clash would hinder. If AD isn't a go for some reason, Bam is fun to watch and would jive well with the Warriors I think.
I really didn't expect the US would win the FIBA championship given the talent level of the roster and the short preparation period. All in all, they were pretty close - a 2 point loss in the semis and an OT loss in the 3rd place game. A couple of breaks the other way and they could be basking in the glow of a championship.
It would be really interesting to see how a single NBA team with primarily US players (i.e. the Dubs) would fare against some of the other FIBA teams. The overall talent level might be a little lower than that of the USA team but the experience playing together and familiarity with systems on both offense and defense would be a big plus.
I said it before and I'll say it again. Steve Kerr lsfsdf sal oqwsjbk sahf salkfal. Eflshf aowhfa qq;'g'pewn adws qfsfj! Quqfn;wej lfgweri qfwe? FIQ FWEEFE QF! Rdkwqlh oeeyqdkjwqd Curry pfwkqjd dfsaf. Dfdeashf! Obviously!
Steph and trainer Payne hold a mini camp in Vegas with Warriors (Moody, Quinones, rookies Trace and Brandin) and non-Warriors players.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rho-sJ9GfTI
Podz looks behind the curve and so does Moody. What a great exercise in coordination! Who is the fat MC? He looks very out of place here.
Steph’s legendary trainer Brandon Payne. He’s very much *in* place here, given he’s often credited (by Steph and others) for Steph’s elite fitness and skill level.
Hard to imagine none of it has rubbed off on him.
If you’re fat shaming here … please cut it out.
Health is about good diet and exercise plus mental discipline. It's just an incongruous look.
Brandon Payne is one of the best trainers in the world.
Anything else I write after that seems pointless...
health & weight are not synonymous tho
Fun! Now do that every day for the entire summer like Steph.
And, way to go Azzi!
Steph is tireless. A great inspiration. Would love to have Anunoby and also love Trae Young.

.... Yikes. I felt no need to look up what he did but now that I've read it...hopefully he doesn't get paid.
Since I don’t hear Garuba anywhere on our radar, I’ll take a shot at Queta over Harry Giles Jr. with one of those 2-ways.
Edit- remembered immediately after i hit the Post button that Giles signed with Brooklyn.
ESPN Sources: After signing JaVale McGee to a free agent deal, the Sacramento Kings are waiving centers Nerlens Noel and Neemias Queta to give them a chance to play elsewhere. Both signed partially guaranteed one-year deals with Kings this summer.

Queta. Two-way. Done.
Oh, yeah!
Remember when he absolutely cooked Wiseman in the G-League? 38 points, 18 rebounds, and 3 blocks on 12/14 FGs.
Hope they bring in Queta, he always looked good against the sea Dubs. Not sure if Noel has anything left.. Also, wouldn't hurt to have a guy on the bench that is motivated to show the Kings they made a mistake.
They didn't want you, Noel! We're actually not sure if we want you either.

🚨 WHY NOT?! 🚨 Draymond Green doesn’t see why the Warriors can’t win 2 more championships | NBA Today: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2eFoXrhK9k
Same as the article I linked below, but watching Dray say these things is good to see.
We still right here.
Yeah baby, lfg, WGBC.

no game check for suspended games tho, right?
Yeah I don't think Draymond would be too keen on that!
Just make the fine negative dollars ;)

“Failed trade steal” is a perfect monicker for Larry Hughes. Was sooo stoked when we got him!
McGee doesn't belong on that list. He won a title with the Lakers after leaving us, was a key rotation player on a very strong Suns team, and produced a Justin Bieber song too.
And won a Gold Medal
Yeah, agree, I was thinking about Mavs McGee, but he definitely did some good work after leaving the Dubs

I vote for James Michael McAdoo days!
And waiting eagerly for GP II days! (Or Kuminga days)

This was a great read. And, this cracked me up:
Asked on a scale of one to 10 how much he previously despised Paul, Green interrupted.
"Eleven! I hated him," Green said. "Eleven! But I think that's also a sign of respect."
As I live in the country which won the world championship I - obviously completely devoid of bias - say that Kerr did little wrong and USA were just beaten by a superior basketball country.

You beat our C team. Celebrate hard because nobody is beating US next year.

1. Germany
2. Serbia
3. Canada

They're World Champions, which means they are the best in the world. According to a track star and fellow World Champion.
So they get to hold the title until somebody challenges them

Get the big guys for international, play: Embiid (US passport), Bam, KD,
Steph, Klay, Moody, GP2, CP3, Dray, Loon, etc.
Are you talking about Team USA or Team Golden State? 😂
I like this question! For me it'd be Booker, Lebron and AD or Bam. Booker is a big drop off in defense from Wiggins and probably JK, but more than makes up for it with his additional scoring. Plus, it would settle the question about 'World Champions'.
Kuminga sounds off on his high praise for Curry(as a person) and on finally meeting his idol Kobe a week or so before his death.

Man, I'd love to meet Kevin Garnett sometime in my life. I can't tell you how many hours I've watched of his film, modeling myself after his game.
Kevin Garnett and Rajon Rondo probably had the greatest impact on my personal game of anybody.
KG and Rondo? If we ever play one on one remind me to wear headphones.
Lmao, I can neither confirm nor deny that I've gotten over 12 people to start swinging at me in BBall courts just through my trash talk alone!
You may meet KG one day. After all,
ANYTHING IS POSSSIIIBLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLEE

Hmm, some interesting points, which I'll translate:
FIQ FWEEFE QF = small ball
wej lfgweri qfwe? Where is Curry?
Dfdeashf = play Jalen Brunson at center
Curry = I need Curry!
