Dropped 64 on the league’s #2 D in the first half. I’ll take it.

Hawks have been playing well lately. I’ll grudgingly tip my hat to PHO if they come out with the W.

I’m sure the hawks will blow this but it’s nice to imagine they don’t

I can’t believe (well I can but it sucks) the Lakers are AGAIN on national TV tonight. What a waste of a perfectly good time slot that could have gone to a different team.

Man there’s some drama here lol. Mixed doubles, the husband (turns out) was rubbing his wife’s shoulder and she shucked his hand off very annoyed.

Drama in curling? Lol!

If/when the Raptors handle the Bulls tonight, there’ll be 3 games separating #1 from #6 in the East, and 4 games separating #1 from #9. With the Hawks moving up fast on the outside…

I enjoyed how when Harden’s name came up Dray just nodded as opposed to everyone else he said something like “well deserved” or “of course”. I interpreted it as “of course he got picked but he don’t deserve it”.

Expand full comment

Harden has been mediocre so far this season. How the heck is he an all star reserve.

Expand full comment

They should have an "all-pudge" All-Star team. Harden could be captain. Who else would play? At one point, Chris Paul, but he seems to have gotten leaner.

Harden's at 57.6% TS and Steph's at 58.6. It's not that big of a difference this year.

"Down right awful" is just wrong. He's been an all-star calibre player this year (at worst, a fringe all-star level player). That's just seen as awful for an MVP level guy that Harden has been since 2014.

Nets have $127M in salary for their top 4 guys.

Two of them, KD and Harris, are out ($58.2M total) probably for an extended period of time.

Two of them play part-time: Harden doesn't play defense ($43.8M) and the other only plays road games ($33.9M).

Only KD and Harris are signed past this year. Both Kyrie and Harden have player options for next season... assuming they're likely not taking the PO....

Should the Nets just give up this year and look to trade away Patty for picks/youth?

Man…KD backed the wrong horses

So this is what happens when Durant is able to build a team around him rather than around Steph.

I don’t think KD can win a chip as the number 1 option. He needs Stephs gravity.

Expand full comment

I think they would have won it all last year if they hadn't traded for Harden, who couldn't play when it counted. They got bounced by the Bucks by KD's big feet.

KD can't win a chip as the Number 1 option? What about his gameplay makes you think that he NEEDS Steph? KD is a 7 foot sniper who can score at a highly efficient clip while still distributing and being relatively low usage while also being a good multipositional defender. Thats a skillset that is highly impactful and highly translateable. Not to mention, its shown at the highest levels of playoff basketball.

What is it about KD's game makes you think that A) KD can't win a chip as a N.1 option and B) He needs Stephs gravity.

Honestly, this statement is so disrespectful to KD.

Expand full comment

Maybe chill out a little?

KD could absolutely win a chip without Steph. Just not sure he can do it with 1/2 Kyrie and Disinterested Harden.

Fair enough (on the chill out portion), but this comment has me tilted as its representative of a broader trend. I'm just honestly sick and tired of Warriors fans consistently devaluing and lowkey disrespecting KD. Its one thing to love the core 3 more, but its another to put down KD as if doing so would make the core brighter.

I know you're probably going to say you haven't seen people putting down KD, but I consistently have taken notice of it ever since KD left (case in point the comments above). Maybe its the Raider fan in me, once a Raider always a Raider. For me, its once a Warrior, always a Warrior (and thats doubly true for someone like KD who was an immensely important part of our championships).

I was offended by the way towards the end of his tenure, he started disrespecting Kerr. I remember towards the end he did a lot of standing around and when one reporter asked him why, he said coach told me to go there. It wasn’t a straightforward answer, it was sarcasm.

Really glad VanVleet made it. He strikes me as one of the really good guys in the league, despite being a really tough Steph defender. Hard worker, gives effort all the time (the anti-Haren), came out of nowhere, stuck with Toronto when his contract was up.

Nice story about him in The Athletic today: https://theathletic.com/3103816/2022/02/03/they-really-dont-make-em-like-fred-vanvleet-stories-and-traits-that-helped-forge-a-likely-all-star/

Toronto is so damn tough night in and night out and VanVleet's a big part of that.

So yeah, it's very nice to have three.

So happy for Wiggs. I think he's still got a smile on his face.

Speaking of you-know-who, I didn't realize he was from Milwaukee. What's with the Warriors and players from Milwaukee? Looney, Poole, and P.J.'s BFF. Also, Carl Landry, solid guy, enjoyed him when he was here.

That's 4 out of 27 players all-time from Milwaukee according to https://basketball.realgm.com/nba/birth-cities/28/Milwaukee-WI-United-States. Warriors got all the best ones except for Devin Harris.

Rounding out the rest from the West:

- Mitchell

- Chris Paul

- KAT

That would be Donovan, not Davion.

Speaking of Davion Mitchell, I looked up his numbers. He's playing 25 minutes per game, with .7 steals and +- of -2.7.

Player B is playing 16 minutes per game, with 1.4 steals and +- of +3.2.

Which one would you want on your team?

Not really a fair comparison because one is actually a center.
