Am I crazy thinking that Draymond will likely not cover most of Luka's possessions in the game but be able to put the clamps in crunch time? I just feel like if anyone can get Luka it's Dray, but you don't want him doing that all game.
One stone gold lock: if the Warriors win tonight, most people will put them in the Finals. If the Warriors lose tonight, most people will put Dallas in the finals.
Anyone wanna take bets on whether Steph misses a technical FT this series? My money is on "no" because I'm hoping Dallas will earn fewer techs than our past two opponents.
I do have an issue with Dubs in 5. Memphis may have more talent overall, but zero experience and a dumb ass coach. Dallas has the better singular superstar, a really smart coach and a bit more experience on the court. So I wonder how or why we would dispatch Dallas in less time than it took to send Memphis on vacation. I could see this going 7 easy, unless our shooters heat up. And don't forget Doncic smiling and laughing in Game 7 on the road. That team isn't going to become unraveled. G1 will be critical.
OK here we go with the predictions! I've been nervous all day.
- Steph will shoot more like old Steph, get close to 40% from the 3 pt line for the series, and average 28 pts per game while making the offense hum.
- Luka will be a monster and average 35 ppg for the series. He will hunt Steph and Poole and it will be frustrating to watch us not being able to do much about it (although Kerr will certainly empty the playbook in terms of defensive looks and schemes). But his efficiency will wane a little bit later in the series as we tire him out by putting him in all of our motion actions.
- Poole and Klay will each go off for one game apiece, and the Warriors will win those games.
- Dinwiddie/Brunson/Kleber will have two hot games that the Mavs will win.
- Each team will win one #Random Ending.
- Mavs defense in their five-out lineups will look better than what many people are predicting.
- Kuminga will surprise us with his ability to guard Luka competently for short stretches at a time.
- Real estate prices on Wiggins Island will continue to climb.
- We will miss GP2. A lot.
- The next two weeks will be very very stressful.
- Warriors ultimately take care of business at home. W's in 7 but it will be a battle (WLLWWLW). #NothingEasy!
I know how the Dubs are gonna win this series and how many games it will take, but I am gonna keep it to myself. Because the other thing I know is: I'll be dead wrong. Keep surprising me Dubs!
Listened to the Zach Lowe podcast with Kevin Arnovitz a couple days back. Very insightful especially in regards to the Dallas Mavericks and how well all the pieces fit around Luka. Which leads me to this point: I better not hear anything in regards to Luka having no help If Dallas loses. At this point you don’t get this far without having some solid complementary role Players.
Also something else I realized is bringing back the yellow shirts don't matter if no one wears them. No one really wore the black ones (including myself but I had a black jersey), though if I had a yellow one I most likely would have so here's hoping everyone's thinking that way.
I would not be surprised if they could get it done in 5 but I think the Warriors will take this one in 6. I see the Mavs winning one Luka game and another game where the other guys like Kleber and Dinwiddie and Brunson get hot from 3.
Next season Curry will be the longest tenured Warrior ever (14 seasons). Chris Mullin was the previous record holder at 13 seasons. That's pretty cool.
Interesting article on Looney’s health issues and what he did to overcome them.

*”Stone gold” was a typo, but I’m keeping it.
17-0 (Dubs record in Western Conference playoff series since 2015). Just a reminder.

T-3hr till the pre-series speculation and hot takes end (and the mid series speculation and hot takes kick in)

First time seeing Post-Grad Steph tonight... beware @rest of the league
