I don't really mind the loss, TBH, but holy crap Dray's TOs!
No real issue with playing well and losing, but that was one that we had a great chance at, and pretty much kicked it away with TO's and bad transition D.
How do you not mind losing when the squad is floundering and has already lost to this team twice? And Steph gives them a masterpiece and it's wasted? I certainly mind this loss!
Yeah, phrased it weird, I meant before tonight had already lost twice. You'll see in a comment below I expressed my disdain for losing to them for the third time in all caps
So your bar for the Warriors is that low that you don't mind when they lose to a "pretty decent" team, who is 7-16 against the rest of the NBA, and who was down by double digits to us in the 4th? And you don't mind that it drops us below .500? Not bothered by losing a game where Steph makes 12 threes?
Fair enough! I guess you are at peace with the dubs fighting to stay in the play in - maybe I'll get there...
Yeah, I'd say it's pretty low. This isn't a title team. It may not even be a play-in team. That's a little surprising, but some things just aren't breaking right:
We needed JK to step up to be a dominant team.
Buddy's shooting is close to career lows.
Horford has not been a difference-maker.
Dray's not playing all that well so far (I'd say, pretty meh, rather than really bad).
the thing is the injury luck has been relatively within norms. And, yet, we're a .500 team.
It's not like this team is going to be injury-free the rest of the way.
I know Shaedon Sharpe is fast but watching him do a simple push cross and getting a uncontested layup is insanity. That's on the POA defender AND the help
He had solid defensive plays in the first half (multiple steals and a block). Second half wasn't as good. And unfortunately his shots didn't go down, but he wasn't alone in that...
Defense was particularly lacking tonight. Blazers had too many open looks on threes, which they were able to knock down. Also, Sharpe was red hot tonight, which didn't help.
Can’t go with the “they were just hot” angle when we were getting blown by repeatedly and got into scramble mode. Yeah, they are the worst 3pt shooting team in the league but they’re going to hit the good looks
The problem is that most NBA players nowadays can hit wide open threes, even if they suck at them when guarded. This has become painfully obvious. We just don’t recover fast enough to overhelp the way we do.
I didn't get to see this game (Sunday is family dinner night) but I checked the box score occasionally. After the game I looked over the numbers, and Draymond had some pretty good ones — until you get to the 8 TOs. That is truly disgraceful, even by Dubs standards. Since I didn't see it, I don't know how he managed it. Maybe the Blazers were that good at stepping into passing lanes and such. But even then, 8 TOs! Yikes!
Inaccurate, lazy outlets and passes where you're not on the same page. Of course the defense has to be given some credit but I don't think he got his moneys worth on at least 5 of those turnovers
Portland is the prototypical Kryptonite against this Dubs team. We just don't have the defensive wherewithal against young, quick, big teams. Most of their threes were wide open due to easy penetration and kick outs.
Post game thread up. Want to celebrate seeing Steph having a miraculous game? Want to publicly give up on the season? Have at it…

Yeah, the reckless /dumb/unforced turnovers were really the difference in us beating Portland in their A++ shooting game or losing. Sigh.

Tonigh is our third loss to them.

I think Portland's a pretty decent team. Their record doesn't show it, but there are 3 or 4 guys who I think are pretty good.

So, I'm adjusting my expectations.
It just makes me sad that Steph is still elite and this is his situation. He would never request a trade but I would totally support him if he did
I know Shaedon Sharpe is fast but watching him do a simple push cross and getting a uncontested layup is insanity. That's on the POA defender AND the help
He absolutely toasted Buddy pretty much at will
I want a selective flashy thing, one that just is like a highlight reel of Steph from this game. I'll pay extra for that.
Butler is consistently underwhelming. That's all I got
Feels like he's getting burned by young teams
Which is most teams 😂
The only player who didn't score tonight was Melton.
Insanity is you know.
Kerr might have lost the plot.
One of these days closing with Dray at 5 will work!!111!!
Kerr is going to be tinkering until the very end and we won’t even make the playin.
Coaches are still trying to work out lineup combinations.
A lot of inconsistent play from many players, and so very inconsistent lineups.
Why did we even get Seth if he hardly plays? We could have used another shooter.
The defense was pretty off in the second half. Seth wouldn't have fixed it.
Honestly, Steph was our best defensive guard in the part that I saw, and take your pick between Melton and Podz for the second best.
Melton didn’t do anything special tonight.
He had solid defensive plays in the first half (multiple steals and a block). Second half wasn't as good. And unfortunately his shots didn't go down, but he wasn't alone in that...
He had 2 steals, 1 block, 1 rebound, and the only one with ZERO points.
Which backs up what I said about him having good defensive plays in the first half. Fair to say he didn't do anything in the second half though!
He was questionable coming into the game, don't know if that matters

No they’re not. You give them threes because they suck at them and they’re beastly driving and in the paint.
The problem is that most NBA players nowadays can hit wide open threes, even if they suck at them when guarded. This has become painfully obvious. We just don’t recover fast enough to overhelp the way we do.
About that #2 defense we used to have... time for Stackhouse to rethink his defensive approach for this team?
Ws' lack of quickness hurts... Blazers drove and kicked passes out for lots of open threes.
I hope the Warriors can make the playoffs, if not I hope Steph makes at least All NBA 2nd team. Not much else to cheer for now.
Uh it is what the Warriors did do. We kept turning the ball over at crucial times

Thanks. I couldn't believe it when I first read that box score. Had to read that TO number three times.
Portland is the prototypical Kryptonite against this Dubs team. We just don't have the defensive wherewithal against young, quick, big teams. Most of their threes were wide open due to easy penetration and kick outs.
And leaving NBA players in 2025 wide open from three.
Bob talking like the Blazers are world beaters…they’re 9-16
I guess 10-16 now with three wins against the Warriors
Really boosting their win% getting to play our sorry squad so much 😂😭
Alright. Good night folks.
Steph almost beat three guys having top games
We're challenging this and it'll end up being overturned...but not in our favor, itll become an away from the play foul
no problem with the call, TBH. It was a pretty clear foul.
I agree. And it could've been called a foul before the inbound
Blazers were undefeated when they made 38% or more on threes.
Never expect a warriors win with mitchell irvin reffing tbh
