There started off a a few brief notes for myself, but they started getting more elaborate and are more human-readable by Q2.

Q1

• 8.50. AH checks in.

• 8.36. BLOB, it’s a cross screen into a pin in. Jimmy free off Steph screen.

• 8.13. GSW running. Jimmy claps for the ball.

• 7.58. A few seconds of Horford guarding PNR in drop

• 7.40. Steph-AH PNR

• 7.26. Good pass from AH on break. Airbending on Steph backcut

• 7.21. AH guards Laravia not Dray. Switch to Bronny. Clever late clock double from Horford

• 6.45. Steph invert PNR on wing

• 6.25. Switching comms.

• 6.00. Horford switch and steal

• 5.32. JK coming.

• 5.05. Butler mock angry waves down Buddy for missing the 3

• 4.23. AH gets it back to dray after the miss.

• PS, JK coming.

• 3.45. This is wheel 45, forgot the name. It’s preseason for me too. Quick flow into JK post up and pass to GP2

• 2.57. JK post up. Look at the formation. Sort of Jimmy standard.

• 2.42. GSW zone. Destroyed by LAL. Lots of d comms and confusion about positioning

• 2.07. Great rebound from JK

• 2.00. Good D Horford, splitting difference to guard the lob

• 1.26. Horford another good eye passing. Spencer backcut

• 1.02. AH tells Buddy where to be on the play?!

• 0.35. Spencer pivot to ICE D, AH pivots to drop coverage well.

• 0.10. JK very active on-ball D there, but lucky Vincent shot.

Q2

• 10.00. JK still needs to work on his screens. DG then knocks Vanderbilt to the floor with a screen. Steph clean pull-up 3.

• 9.48. I love this route from Vincent after doing the twirl screen. Interesting.

• 9.14. Good little stagger screen Steph-Jimmy-Dray. Jimmy rolls, can’t handle pass. Flows into other stuff.

• 8.26. Good effort from JK on rebound.

• 8.11. Funny play, JK leans in for the foul, none, he scoops it in anyway.

• 7.17. JK again with good tip on rebound.

• 6.59. GSW has been practicing this surprise half court trap. Burned before, this time, BP comes from the blind side.

• 6.50. JK in Jimmy standard position.

• 6.28. Ooooh, I thought Steph got a clean block there.

• 6.18. Second time today that Steph has faked out Dray on the back cut (and popped instead)

• 5.22. Interesting play. Three man gaggle (is it a classic gaggle?)

• 5.09. Seeing Post v Ayton will be interesting.

• 4.59. Post good contest, no foul.

• 4.45. AH and QP, twin towers stretch version. Also out there.

• 4.30. Announcers manage to discuss the no-bad-high-five rule without mentioning HOU targeting Steph’s hand all series.

• 4.10. QP with the hard show and recover on that PNR defense! Horford behind him with the block.

• 3.45. QP another good contest of Ayton in the post.

• 3.33. That Moody corner 3 stroke is looking pretty smooth. Nice to see Mo with a healed hand.

• 3.00. Same BLOB as before, I think it’s Rub. Q1.8.38. This time Buddy hits the 3 on the pop. Last time it was Butler on the dive.

• 2.25. Horford’s passing has surprised me. Really finds the right pass every time. Sees QP with the late seal in the post and he gets it there. QP fouled.

• 2.12. Another 1-3-1 zone. It works this time.

• 1.57. THAT IS THE DREAM. Horford with the pick and pop 3. (With Spencer, that’s not part of the dream, but I digress.) Then he snuffs Hayes at the rim. Wow.

• 1.11. Then AH intimidates Laravia at point blank range. Then AH no hesitation hoists another pick and pop 3, miss.

• 0.43. Stagger, Buddy pop out, into QP PNR

• 0.15. AH with a good contest in the corner.

• Horford’s defense is better than I expected and as good as Jimmy and the vets promised. AH showing a ton of vision and court sense. Horford’s +/- must be off the charts… game high +13.
