Postgame: Warriors poop the bed. Late turnovers, Lonnie Walker and a meltdown
Welp. That is going to put the Golden State Warriors entire season on the brink
Basketball - especially playoff basketball - can be a painful thing to watch. Jordan Poole was absolutely ineffective. Lonnie Walker (who?) caught fire in the 4th quarter. And the Golden State Warriors did just enough stupid stuff to throw away a winnable game.
The Warriors went small, opting to start Gary Payton II, and it paid off. The Warriors dominated the paint, hung around in the rebounding battle, but lost one of those classic random ending games. .
It was within reach, but Draymond Green farted a possession away. Then it was Curry’s turn, grabbing a contested rebound only to weirdly pass it out of bounds.
Warriors down 1-3. They have no answer for Austin Reaves and Lonnie Walker and the entire season - nay, the entire dynastic run - is on the cusp of disappointingly stumbling out of the playoffs.
Whew. I need more drinks. Sure, I could maybe learn to handle these things with more poise and emotional maturity, but I think maybe me and the Warriors have something in common in this regard.
The Warriors went small, starting Gary Payton II, and it mostly worked as the Warriors stretched the Lakers to the breaking point. But in the end, a random hot quarter from Lonnie Walker combined with the Warriors inability to hit shots was too much.
Damnit y’all. Just… damn.
Absolutely punted a brilliant Curry game.
That wasn’t great, but the Warriors get another chance at this in two days. Here’s hoping…
What’s really weird is that the Warriors didn’t win the free throw war tonight, despite killing it in the paint. That’s super weird.
Anyways, move on (after maybe getting a little extra bonkers tonight) and try again on Wednesday. I still believe.

On a side note, Hartenstein was ranked the 13th best Center in basketball on a down year according to RAPTOR. He accomplished this primarily on the back of his defense, where he was the 7th best center in the NBA.
Hartenstein is one of the best defensive centers and has one of the highest rebounding % as well. If he could simply be in the right team that utilizes his passing abilities (like the Warriors), his scoring limitations could be hidden and he could be celebrated for the underrated player he is.
