Postgame party thread: Golden State tears away in 4th to pick up another home win
Free throw merchants go down to Warriors in the 4th
Jordan Poole went off for 18 points in the 4th quarter, as the Golden State Warriors dragged themselves back from a double-digit deficit for yet another statement win at home. It wasn’t always pretty, but when the Warriors pulled away in the 4th, the puzzle all came together. Ball movement. Sweet shooting. Stout defense. MOAR SWEET SHOOTING!
This is the third consecutive win for the Warriors, who all of the not-so-sudden look like a scary playoff team with less than 10 games left in the regular season. I’m not sure exactly what happens when this team plays at home, but love to see it.
This was some classic Warriors basketball - which is a refreshing change from some of the stinkers this squad has laid out all season. Jordan Poole, who has been unsteady and turnover prone was a huge factor in the 4th quarter comeback. As Joel Embiid went nuts on his way to 46 points and a metric tonne of free throws, it was Poole’s aggression that helped turn the tide. Looks like Poole finally figured out how to come off the bench, he ended with 33 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and perhaps most impressively: just one turnover!
The Splash Brothers did what they do. But I’d like to take a moment to praise the great Kevon Looney. He is in his prime right now and did extremely well against one of the most difficult center position matchups in the league.
Woo!
Oh, and Gary Payton might be back for the next game?
That 4/5 spot is really close but I wouldn't be surprised if the dubs meander a bit to keep that 6th.
Then again, home court is real and although KD is great, his health and chemistry with the Suns is still questionable in a playoff setting against the dubs.
As for a matchup against the clips, well they're definitely no stranger to going home early and obviously PG13s leg is a thing
Harris was eating Klay's lunch in the first half. He didn't look to score as much in the second half, probably because the Dubs put JK on him when they could.
