Mostly an unsolicited response to Tim Kawakami constantly citing plus/minus like it's a serious stat but this is something for people (Tim Kawakami) to consider. Starters who are on good teams that tend more toward hockey substitutions will probably get a boost to their overall plus/minus off of that alone because they share the court with better players more and when they are off the court there are worse players out there more often. There simply needs to be an adjustment for who you play with and who you play against for this stuff to even approach being a serious metric.

Someone mentioned before Wednesday's games that the Magic could move ahead of the Bucks for the 2nd seed (no longer possible since they lost on Wednesday). Now, they could actually fall all the way to 8th. The East is silly

What if ur Detroit and u have one of the top two picks and Donovan Clingan is there. Would you pick him as BPA (and IMO he’s the best player in the draft this year), choose for need, or look to trade down

Since I'm in Spanish class, I have become more attuned to the use of language.

JK is listed as being out with a 'pelvic contusion'. So, does this mean butthurt, or the other? If the other, how exactly did it happen? Bad date?

If it was a hip, you'd assume it would be listed as a hip contusion (which sounds wayyy cooler ... all the cool cats use it).

Extra credit: work "pelvic contusion" into a grammatically correct sentence.

For instance:

Waiter, I will need a straw to drink this margarita, since I have a pelvic contusion.

It's a lot of burden on me, to be honest, having a media vote for the end of season awards. I get so much lobbying and get harassed a lot on social media, that sometimes I wonder if it's worth it. So many homers and amateurs think they know better, and they're never nice about it. That said, it is an honor, and I feel confident in my choices. I watch all the games, I talk to the coaches and GMs league wide. So without further ado, here are the votes I intend to cast next week. Bash at me as you will, homers and fanbois.

MVP: This is clearly Steph Curry (GSW) . He's had to carry more than any other superstar and as usual has been the most startlingly effective force of gravity scoring and passing in league history. Easy choice.

DPOY: Draymond Green (GSW) . He didn't play sufficient games but I'm going to grant a waiver because without him the Warriors were a defensive shambles and with him they've been outstanding.

ROY: Here I have a two-way tie, which some people will consider a cop-out. I went with Brandin Podziemski (GSW) out of Santa Clara, and Trayce Jackson-Davis (GSW) out of Indiana. Both players have worked themselves into an elite lineup with a coach who rarely plays rookies. Both are mature beyond their years, understand the game. BP helps make their offense and defense run, and TJD is the lob threat and rim protection they have long needed.

Most Improved: Another two-way tie. I have Jonathan Kuminga (GSW) from the G-League Ignite, and Moses Moody (GSW) out of Arkansas. They've gone under the radar for a lot of the national media, but they have improved in every aspect of the game and are now playing key roles for a playoff -- OK play-in -- contender.

Coach of the Year: Doc Rivers.

Mavericks are surging. Their Daniel Gafford trade is an example of an acquisition of someone who isn't a superstar yet who materially impacted the Mavs and made them a lot better. Good thing for them that they weren't thinking that no one short of Giannis could have helped them have a better shot at contending. To an even larger extent, the same thing happened in 2021-2022 when the Celtics traded for Derrick White despite a bunch of people saying it was meaningless and that there was no point to it. Also the Lakers last season trading for Hachimura and getting to the WCF.

Lets hope this changes tonight!

"The difference is stark. The Warriors have won at New York, at Oklahoma City and at New Orleans – but are a combined 0-4 against those teams at Chase."

This father and his two sons made a 12 hour round trip and spent $2500 to see Klay play last night, only to find out that Klay wasn’t playing. Warriors Raymond Ridder heard about it and made sure that our players personally met them after the game. Great move by Ridder.
