Golden State blows out the Thunder, then holds off a mighty comeback effort to earn a needed road victory
The Golden State Warriors are starting to come together like Voltron! After spending much of the season looking a little too rudderless and out of sorts to contend for much, the Warriors are eyeballing these last games before the All-Star break as an opportunity to get right.
The Oklahoma Thunder are no pushovers, and they made Dub Nation sweat a bit in the fourth quarter. But then, the proven Warriors machine kept churning, drawing on all that historical inertia that provides such great quantities of comfort and urgency.
These early games are tough. I caught some of the action early, and was putting the plates together during what was almost an epic comeback by Thunder. I’m biased, and was distracted, but it sure did feel like the ref whistles played a non-zero role in facilitating said comeback.
But this outcome is why I try not to get too bent out of shape about the referees. If you play well enough to win, the random weird call doesn’t really matter all that much. So thank you, Golden State, for sparing me the emotions here.
Good win!
The Warriors get one day off, and then a pretty tough back-to-back. But the puzzle is starting to come together. (you always start with the border, then it gets easier till the very end).
Let’s goooooooo!
I missed this game...1st one this season....great win vs an upstart team that is playing out of its mind...the thing that I find disturbing is my discovering today NONE of our guys made the RISING STARS ROSTERS..a bit surprised....is it because of insufficient games/PT?...
Sweet win....yep, it is slowly happening...Splash with 66, this time, 64, last time....so great if we can somehow manage to keep it going...I tweeted this on 3 January....
''A matter of time before injuries heal and those away games and unfamiliar courts begin to produce familiar results/wins to complement @warriors @NBA-best, home record...''
As we quietly slipped into 5th place in the West, it appears the time may be NOW... Let's go WIN a couple of games...
