Post game hand-wringing thread: Warriors blow it again
16-point lead not enough, Magic roar back, Dubs can't stop fouling
Oof.
The Golden State Warriors took a 12 point lead into halftime, and we even up 90-75 with around 4 minutes left in the 3rd quarter. But then the lowly Orlando Magic rose up to finish out the game on a 40-18 run, earning their second win of the season, and handing the Warriors another loss.
Pain. The road trip is now 0-4, with the tail end of a back-to-back coming up for the Warriors tomorrow.
On the bright side, Stephen Curry looked great again. Klay Thompson found his shot, and Kevon Looney was aggressive on his way to a new career regular season high scoring mark.
Golden State couldn’t defend without fouling. The Magic ended the night with a 46 to 15 advantage at the charity stripe, and it felt mostly fair. The Warriors can’t stop point of attack, and then they can’t contest well at the rim without fouling.
Feel free to freak all the way out. Even being this early in the season, there are a ton of problems to address - and they all feel pretty darn urgent.
Don't know if it's been said elsewhere on the thread, but the worst thing about all of this losing is no E1P.
I didn't watch the game. I have barely watched any of them to be honest, so forgive me if I am out of touch.
But I do watch the highlights after every game and in my opinion, you can shake a play or two here and the outcome is way different.
Yes, we have to clean up some stuff. Yes, guys need to learn on the fly really quick. Yes, some legs are older and not as youthful as they used to be. But damn, we have been here before.
Give the kids some time. Let them deal with adversity, let them figure it out. We might slide a bit in the standings, but we will be in the fight.
I want Wise to figure it out, I believe he can. This is all part of the process.
Sorry for sounding like a rosey-eyed homer, but I truly believe we will be fine. There is something about having heart. This team has it, and even more important the rest of the league knows they have it too. The time will come.
