Just watched the Wiseman highlights from last night - my takeaway is that Wiseman can dunk without dribbling despite being what I would say is quite far from the hoop.

The thing about wiseman is even if he improves defensively and on his screens, the hands are a illing point. Its got to be so disheartening to wqtch him drop a rebound or easy pass and have to run back on defense empty handed

Pop vs. Kerr.

How real is the thought that Kerr being extremely strict with his young players has a negative impact on their play? Especially when they know the rules of the house. Screw up in the first and you might not play in the 2nd, you might not play for a week. To tell the truth, I am not on the team and it stresses me out!

For comparison, Pop can be a fiery coach. You screw up, and he stands up, calls a time out and he is gonna give you an earful. But he gets it out and it ends. This is what we screwed up, now this is what we are going to do next. And the players know they are headed back out onto the court to try an improve.

Life can be ass-backwards sometimes. Allowing for failure in action can sometimes be the quickest path to success as result, while holding up young players to the standard of Dynasty in action may just as easily lead to failure as result. With the loss of fun-guy Mike Brown, who may have been the yin to Kerr's yang, I just feel like we are trying to hard with expectations too demanding. We are gripping. And Kerr needs to burn one, get some freakin' Bob Marley in the house, and allow for some organic development. And drop the whole JOY thing. It feels like commercialized joy. It's just an empty slogan. Real joy comes from experiencing where we are now, without expectations, without demands, without judgment. And if we are a .500 team today, embrace it. It doesn't mean we are going to be a .500 team at the end of the year. It just feels like there has been to much pressure in the tires, all year, and we need to let some out.

Wiseman needs more minutes with Draymond. Draymond looks for him on offense and helps on defense too with in the moment leadership/coaching. There were so many times Wise had a smaller defender on him and didn't get the ball because they weren't looking for him... this may be part of the struggle of Wiseman's offense: If he's got a mismatch, he's going to go to the basket/post up and look for the ball. If a guard doesn't recognize that (because they've never even had to think about looking for Looney, Dray, or even Bogut, Pachulia, or Cousins), he's just going to be in the way.

Based on winning % and net rating, my current projections indicate … no one is going to win the championship this year.

OT: the German news magazine “Der Spiegel” has Steve Kerr in their list of “Menschen des Jahres” (people of the year). For his rant against gun laws in the US back in May.

I'm more than a little tired of the "we must win this year at any cost while Curry is in his prime." story line. It sounds as if everybody thinks that Steph is going to go from his current MVP level to chopped liver before next season. I give him at least 2 more seasons before visible decline. The puppies are all showing signs of rapid growth and, while they may not reach championship level this season, I believe that the Dubs will get one more chip before Steph goes to the bench (where Klay already belongs). The 2 timeline will converge nicely with JK & JW & JP3 becoming all stars to lead the team into another decade of competing at the highest level.

Trading away the future in an attempt to save what may already be a lost season just doesn't make good business sense to me. With the salary cap as it is, there's no way to get fair value for JW. If tonight was a glimpse into JW's future, we'd be trading away the next Giannis or Embid for a journeyman or 2.

I've been unable to watch anything as I'm currently backpacking through Turkey so questions?

How was Wiseman's pick and roll defense/weakside help defense?

Why was Kuminga bottled up? Was his lack of ball handling/shooting exposed?

Overall, there are some positives as Wiseman had one of the better +/-'s and dropped 30 pts while Moody/Baldwin exhibited some growth both with 17. The hope is, this increased burn will give them more confidence/experience as role players once the starters return giving us some depth.

Yay. We lost by 30 like I thought we would. Not a point more not a point less.

JW looks more stable. Doesn't hang his head, doesn't look dejected. Looking forward to a Hello Everybody video on JW!!! Great game....good to see the kids grow...

I'm going to call it a moral victory. If Wiseman can grab a few more rebounds and score like he did tonight, the Warriors can live with a few defensive miscues as part of the second unit. I'm not sure that PBJ is an NBA player as he looks kind of slow compared to everybody else on the court, but if he can hit his spot up 3s and grab a few more rebounds he could at least be useful. Ty Jerome was OK as well. Nobody really expected a competitive game, and the baby dubs did manage to make it competitive at least for 1 quarter.

Wow, Scottie Barnes: 27 minutes, 2 pts on 1-10 fga, -16 in a 7-point Raptors *win.*

Dude was considered a can't miss superstar going into the season. I guess the NBA is hard.

Meanwhile, Pascal Siakam, who was considered a bad contract a couple years back, put up 52 pts on 17-25 fg, 9 reb, 7 ast.

Poole, Kuminga and Lamb had 15 of the team's 21 turnovers. Dang.
