I'm seeing a lot of praise for Poole's game and he certainly scored the ball at a decent rate but I can't get past this play:

https://www.nba.com/stats/events/?GameEventID=651&GameID=0022100694&Season=2021-22&flag=1&title=Green%20REBOUND%20(Off:2%20Def:0)&sct=plot

Failure isn't an option on a play like this, Poole needs to get that fucking ball. Lee and GP2 would both get that basketball one way or another. If he's not going to out-muscle a 19 year old rookie, how is Kerr supposed to expect him to successfully box out Mikal Bridges in the playoffs?

EDIT: Speaking of costing them in the playoffs, watch the play continue here:

Look at this (awful) foul that Goble almost called on Poole, but they determined the timeout came first so the Warriors dodged a bullet. Of course, they wouldn't have had to dodge that bullet if Kerr hadn't made probably the worst challenge call he's ever made in the third quarter for a fucking possession change when there was 12 on the shot clock (unsuccessful by the way). You almost always need to save your challenge for crunch time and this was no exception. If that foul was called, the Warriors probably lose the game.

At some point Kerr needs to stop fucking going by feel or whatever he's doing and think about the actual effect on win probability that the call has (which will always be bigger in crunch time unless we are talking foul trouble for Curry/Draymond). I'm worried that Kerr's lack of challenge skills will cost the team in the playoffs.

Well with a good night’s sleep and the opportunity for reflection, I have come to these important conclusions:

- I’m glad I watched the game. Pain and pleasure in rapid succession increase the dopamine response. And yea, I just made that up.

- It was fun.

- Baked a cake. Had dinner and a few glasses of wine before the game. Watched on slight delay to skip the commercials. That makes all sports better. Cake also makes sports better.

- Houston scored at will in the paint for much of the game. Until they kinda got tired. Oh Draymond Draymond wherefore art thou Draymond?

- I liked Porter and Poole’s games last night. Not excellent, mind you, and they didn’t carry the team to obvious victory, but the two played well on both ends of the court, hit shots, defended well. OPJ got boards. Poole hit 50% of this threes (on 4 attempts, but that’s ok). He also had 4 TOS. Lee had a lot of hustle and took good shots.

- GP2 is a mad wild dervish of a baller. Love watching him play.

- Looney is also playing well, but his in the paint offense, while it works sometimes, is pretty ugly to watch. At least this game when he got triple teamed his teammates ran to to the weak side to take outlet passes.

- The Kuminga as a Starter Era ended awfully quickly. He did get some quick minutes but I think his lack of impact is less on him and more on the coaches for not designing at least a few plays around him for the team to run. This needs work.

- Message from Mr. 3rd Quarter to 2nd Half Curry: Hey Bro nice to see you. Please come back from your wandering in the desert and set up a nice little bungalow here in Splash Land. Stay a while! And Ms. 1st Half would like you to visit more regularly.

- Yea that Curry game winner was exciting. We few dedicated fans watching exploded with cheers. The rest of the house came running. Replays ensued.

Dubs seem to have issues with young, athletic, feisty defenders. The Suns are athletic, but they are older, more disciplined and thus a bit more predictable. The Dubs know defenders aren't going to sacrifice good defensive position in order to try and steal the ball or jump a passing lane. But when up against these young teams, who play risky pressure defense, the Dubs ball security is thrown out the window (Except that pass was deflected. Damn Warriors can't even throw a ball out a window!)

Point is, you beat that type of defense with decisive crisp ball & player movement, allow defenders to overplay out of position, use their strength against them, beat them with skill, IQ and chemistry.

However, without Dray, with Klay's return, the shuffling of player rotations, rookies, the Dubs currently lack the cohesiveness and offensive connectivity to exploit the inherent weaknesses of a young athletic feisty defensive group. One on one, the Dubs seem over-matched all over the court athletically which is why they are coughing the ball up all the time. You can only beat that with 5 man team chemistry. And right now, due to several factors, that chemistry is in the toilet.

Utah and Dallas are better teams, but at this point, I feel more confident in match-ups with veteran teams vs. young upstarts.

Will this all get worked out by season's end? One would hope. But this is year one, so let's at least get part-way there, get a sense for some rotation predictability and expected roles off the bench. And how our offense functions against these younger teams (especially ball security) should be a good indicator of how well this chemistry issue is dealt with heading into the playoffs.

Def glad I missed this one but even more glad Dubs won, off a clutch Curry game winner. Best of both worlds for me

Wow... awful game by the Dubs, I went to bed at halftime because I couldn't stand such sloppiness and low energy. In the end, the team sticked together and played some good D and rebounding down the stretch. But a special mention is well deserved by the fans, who never gave up and provided energetic presence: therefore kudos to the 16th man. I honestly did not understand why the officials, in the next-to-last play, did not give 14" to the rockets when JP2 fouled Jalen Green: can someone explain to me?

Thanks for the S/O @DubyDubDubs! At half time I was thinking "Came for the game but stayed for Red Panda" but actually "Came for the game and stayed for the Curry chair kick and game winner!!" We needed a whole bunch of joy and boy did they deliver in the clutch :D

Both the Warriors and the Jazz are 4-6 in their last 10 games. They will be facing against each other this Sunday.

Did not watch the game, what lineups was Kerr running out?

Houston really should have sent help to guard Steph on the last play. Kevin Porter is a good defender, but there are a lot of players in the league you don't permit to attack one on one in the final seconds just needing a bucket, and Steph is obviously one of them. If they'd forced him to pass maybe it would've led to a bucket, but that's a risk I think they needed to take.
