Warriors pull out difficult mile high victory with late game heroics
The Golden State Warriors did it again! Though the Denver Nuggets put up one hell of a fight, the Warriors’ super lineup once again proved to be just too much.
This one was a lot closer than the first two games, coming down to the wire before a clutch defensive play from Draymond Green sealed the win. It was an iconic moment. Game on the line, series momentum shift hanging in the balance as the Warriors had blown way too many free throws and the Nuggets closed in for the brutal comeback win…. and then, Draymond Green struck.
Like a long-armed, yelling cobra, his ridiculously long arm snaked out and poked the ball away from Nikola Jokic — essentially sealing the win with a signature defensive stop over the presumed repeat-MVP.
I’d say this sort of play was unreal, except that Green keeps doing this over and over again, against the best players the NBA has to offer.
There were also all the macro effects that the series has been defined by. The Warriors guards are just torching the Nuggets point-of-attack defense; breezing by the first defender and setting up a cascade of crumbling defense all night long.
The Warriors get a couple days off, but will be back on Sunday in Denver, hopefully closing out the series.
As always, please pardon the short thread here, this is mostly just so our community has a place to gather. Our team will be back starting tomorrow with more in-depth coverage of this amazing series.
That PTSD squad is pretty good.
