Post game party: Curry goes for 47 on his birthday as Warriors blow out Wizards
Draymond Green's return felt as good as expected
The Golden State Warriors got their heartbeat back and whomped the lowly Washington Wizards in Draymond Green’s first game back from his extended absence. Green did well in his limited minutes, controlling the game and pitching in a nice round statline of six points, seven rebounds, six assists — while being a plus 24 in his 20 minutes on court.
But tonight was about birthday boy, Stephen Curry. One night after he accepted an overly eager defense while his teammates put up big numbers, it was Curry’s turn to punish a team that couldn’t stop him.
Great game!
The Warriors got plenty of help across the board. In addition to big nights from Curry and Green (look, he was on a minutes limitation, ok?!), Golden State got 20 points each from both Jordan Poole and Klay Thompson.
As always, pardon the brief article, DNHQ will be here for you in the morning with more coverage of tonight’s epic game. For now, we party!

Looking at the 3 man net ratings: the Klay,Poole,Curry lineup Is still as good as the spacing indicates and it’s still the top non Iguodala 3 man group as the minutes played go up. Start Klay at the 3 the rest of the way please! You proven to Klay how hard the NBA comeback is, now it’s time to make it easier on him.
But the eye popping part is how good the 3 man groups with Bjelica, Curry or GP2, and Green or Dre are. Bjelica is actually good when playing with experienced basketball players who are connected on D and know how to pass and move on O, and not good otherwise. It’s pretty clear he’s being dramatically misused trying to make him the passer in with the rookies. He should be the supplement to the vets instead.
Tonight’s schedule: easy wins for the Suns, Grizz, Heat, and Nets lined up. AKA a nice break from interesting games.
