What’s that you say? Someone made a ridiculous buzzer beater circus shot over Jokic to win the game? How awful.

Wemby: 33/15/7/7 in OT vs NETS

His 5th game of: 20+ points, 10+ rebounds, 5+ assists, and 5+ blocks.

That’s the most by a rookie since blocks became official in 1973-1974. No other rookie since ‘73 has had more than TWO games with that stat line. 🤯

Good news. I cringe every time he starts talking too loudly to a ref .

Hawks minus three rotation players (Young, Bey, Okungwu) beating the Clippers without Westbrook was NOT what I expected tonight. In fact, I didn't expect the Hawks to outscore the Clippers 30-15 in the 2nd Q and 27-18 in the 3rd Q.

Box score says that PG had 26 points and Kawhi had 28, but Harden had only 9 points and the rest of the Clippers scored no more than 7 points each. Hawks had five players in double figures, and their bench outscored the Clippers bench by 23.

Seems like LeBron always goes so hard against the Dubs he needs a week to recover. I'm predicting another win for the Hawks tomorrow, probably no AD, and LBJ has a semi load management game where he's mostly resting.

Edit: just checked, and the Lakers lost to the Hawks and Rockets the two games after the double OT thriller. LeBron didn't play in their second match up this season.

LA teams lose back to back at thw Crypt - the Flakers last night to the DUBS and the flippers tonight to the Hawks! :-)

Let's hope the Hawks have enough energy to beat the Lakers tomorrow and the Suns on Wednesday.

What do people think we’ll need to sneak into 7/8?

Assuming Suns and Mavs go a pedestrian 8-6 to close out the season… seems like we need to go 12-4 just to tie them in the loss column! I’m not sure about our tiebreakers, don’t think they’re good… so seems like we need to go 13-3??

Expand full comment

Mavs have the 2nd easiest remaining schedule… they’ll go 10-4 I think. Suns have toughest remaining schedule, 8-6 is a good estimate for them. We have to go 12-4 to pass them… it’s gonna be tough, but doable. Gotta beat all the bad teams and split against the good teams. A 3-0 homestand would be money.

Expand full comment

Ah shoot, King schedule also looks average, so doubt they’ll go 9-7 or 8-8 to drop down to us to close… looks like Suns really are our chance at 8th seed.

That and beating the Mavs twice… we just gotta win games.

26-point lead for the Hawks after 3 quarters. Hawks bench unit has scored 25 more points than the Clippers bench unit.

Very interesting post-game response by Steph - he looked at the box scores and was amazed that the Flakers only got 18 FTs - yes 18

In his words "Only 18 free throws!” Curry said mocking incredulously about the Lakers’ total count. “Yeah!”

Thats from TK's article in The Athletic

https://theathletic.com/5347110/2024/03/17/warriors-lakers-playoffs-fouls-kawakami/

Even Goat players are lagging behind all of us at DNHQ who were amazed at the low FT differential but did not put it down on print so as not to JINX it :-)

If the refs are swallowing whistles… the Lakers’, uhhh, excellence at drawing contact and their greatness at not giving contact will be muted.

Bones Hyland has channeled his inner Jordan Poole tonight; he has 2 points and 5 turnovers.

If the refs are not calling blatant foul baiting anymore, are the Clippers toast?

Atlanta seems to be hitting every shot in the 3rd quarter - up by 26 with 4:19 to go in the 3rd

2:15 to go in 3rd and Atlanta still up by 25

The Clippers' fate depends on health, not the refs.

But if the refs stop calling baiting and defenders can play Harden honestly, his offense might be trash…

Man, we GOT to defend home court the next 3 games; opportunity to make a move & breakout of that 9/10 mix. We gon road after that with T-wolves on 24th, Heat on 26th/Magic on 27thB2B. CRITICAL 3-games at home....win at home, and we may start tough road trip at 38-31, and, who knows? maybe 7th/8th place...
