31-32 from the line for Portland. 9-10 for the Dubs. They had 21 turnovers to our 11. We got up 97 shots to their 78. Game was about their getting to the line.

This is a textbook should’ve would have could have team

....sighs. and I was starting the think the dubs would not succumb to their season long nemesis, a 4th quarter offensive meltdown 😔

Can we go balls out for Poeltl now. I'll give up Wiseman, Moody and a 1st for him at this point. Fuck it. Getting desperate.

Expand full comment

Issue is with our style of play - chucking threes at expense of a dunk - thats some brainwashing by the coaching staff

Expand full comment

I wonder how much of that is a coaching plan and how much is the players making decisions on the court. The Dubs do improvise a fair amount, especially if a called play breaks down.

Expand full comment

Raptors or Celtics might get him, unfortunately.

Expand full comment

That isn't likely. Poeltl will be a UFA at the end of the season without Bird rights, which means we can't re-sign him, and we'd be giving up a bunch for a rental. He's not likely to be enough to bring us a title, and then we're in deeper shit next season.

Thanks for informing us. Crisis averted.

I'd rather take that package instead of fucking Thad Young

Got less than a day.

That was fun, until the last 5 minutes. I don't know what Poole, Draymond, or Wiggins were thinking on offense. It was so painful to watch.

Just gotta hope for that 7th seed to avoid playing the 2 games

Expand full comment

If you lose the first play in game you still play a second game as a 7th seed.

You play the winner of 9 vs 10

Expand full comment

Oh that's right.

Going dry on offense in crunch time is one thing but I'm sick of us being a fucking turnstile as a team on defense. There are too many good defenders on this team for us to be this soft

Warriors are proving Charles Barkley right by being a jump shooting team and dying by the three.

Six Finals and four titles in eight seasons … but a random road loss in February without Steph “proves” something?

Expand full comment

We’ve had quite a number of random losses since the start of the season, which is why we’re we’ve been hovering around .500.

I hope I get this it to the team in time: POR is really bad in allowing PITP.

But the Warriors are #28 in points scored in paint. They are allergic to the paint this season for some reason.

In the past, Warriors got lots of their paint points in transition after defensive stops.

Unfortunately, those defensive stops are not there as often this year....

Expand full comment

So are the Lakers dangerous with all their new acquisitions? And should we be scared on Friday? I say yea because we love being .500

Expand full comment

We should be scared of every team.

Expand full comment

I'm scared of the warriors actually, feel like they should win but then they don't

Expand full comment

Certainly, it's addition by subtraction getting rid of Westbrook.

How much addition DLo is.... /shrug

Expand full comment

It might work, honestly. DLo can get hot real fast and that's all a lebron team really needs

Expand full comment

It's an intelligent couple of weeks by the Lakers FO after a year or two of dumb stuff.

Expand full comment

Maybe they finally told LBJ he’s not the GM

Expand full comment

I think they are definitely improved. As usual, the health of AD and LeBron will matter a lot. But they are back in the mix, I think.

Expand full comment

Their new acquisitions won't matter because we'll let Schroder score like 40 to beat us

Expand full comment

Kerrball will ensure an L since we only have super hot 3-pt shooting once in a bluemoon

Expand full comment

They were very good from 3 tonight, and quite bad from 2.

Expand full comment

-22 FTs, -24 points in paint, -16 rebounds. Rebounding, points in paint, and FTs were big problesm tonight.

Tried to overcome these deficits with threes but threes don't fall forever. Even then if they just took like three layups instead of the million different forced contested threes they shot there's a chance we scrape through a win.

Expand full comment

Can't hit from outside & the 2 guys on the team who are walking baskets at the rim are glued to the bench. Effing Kerrball isn't the answer to everything. I'm sure using JK & JW in the post would have drawn a lot of fouls.

Expand full comment

I don't really equate "Kerrball" & "jacking threes" (the particular genius of Kerr's offense is how it leverages the threat of the three to generate looks at the rim), but I admit to being befuddled by some of the choices they made, and how consistently their late game offensive execution has sucked this season

Expand full comment

Kerrball isn't the answer to everything, but I'm not sure Wiseman is the answer to anything. He would have been lost on all that penetration to the hole, fouled out in three minutes type of thing, is my concern.

Expand full comment

Welp, we're not winning enough without him, and we were jacking up 3s and missing. Wiseman gets those dunks and baby hooks deep in the paint, and nobody else we have was doing that.

Expand full comment

yes, we lost this game because of kerrball, epitomized nicely by Dray and Wiggs giving up a point blank layup for a 3 - wow - that has required some beating into

A picture of Steph, one tear rolling down his cheek...

Expand full comment

we will not know until the final game if we'll make the playoffs

Expand full comment

Or if we make the play-in.

Foul calls. 33 free throws (Blazers) to 10 (Dubs)

Expand full comment

Dubs didn't take advantage of it like the Blazers did. Most of our guys shy away from contact on shot attempts for some reason
