- I was not hoping Oubre would return, this side of a trade of Wiggins for a superstar (and I didn't favor that either). I would not have begrudged him coming back, but it seems clear he was a starter (and possibly a star in the making) with a high ceiling in his own mind, and I don't think that was going to be his role in Golden State.
- I was not in the least surprised that they couldn't sign-and-trade him. That was always a long shot, with too many things that had to fall into place to make it possible. Would have been happy for it -- my personal dream scenario was that they'd find a way to send him to Indiana for Myles Turner -- but it was not a likely scenario in my estimation.
We’re finally running back the 2015/16 revenge squad. It’s a good karma group. Only this time the core is old and the periphery is young. If we can get some injury luck for the first time in four years, it’s gonna be a helluva ride.
Also, congrats to Dray, KD, Pop, Kerr and the rest of Team USA on cobbling together a real team in a short period of time and bringing the hardware home to its rightful place.
On missing out on the Traded Player Exception (salary slot). Once upon a time, that salary slot was a critical slot within the roster. However, it had outlived it's usefulness. We already have 4 max slots - which pretty much puts you over the cap to start. But most importantly, we now have 3 Salary Slots for rookies drafted in the Lottery (not to mention Poole in a couple years). That is not cheap. You needed the old Iggy TPE for a good rotation player, a 6th man level player. But that is no longer needed because we have Poole, Wiseman, Kuminga & Moody and all 4 of those guys are expected to be in the range of the type of talent you would have expected to get with the old 15m TPE slot. I am sure Bob tried to get it, it does have value, even if it went unused in the end. But given the current roster and salary commitments moving forward, it's no loss.
seeing steph’s welcome back post for iguodala makes me so happy. i don’t even care what happens this year i’m glad he’s back and will retire with us. in a few years when moody and kuminga becomes all nba they’ll look back and talk about how much iguodala meant to them their rookie season.
Update: Andre Iguodala will return. No sign-and-trade as Oubre leaves Warriors for Hornets; plus USA vs France open thread

Exum just played a great game for Aus. Could be an option. Long, versatile
Dray after gold-medal win.

Yay Dray. Does anyone know his +/- ? (Anyone’s)
Seems like USA played better with Green on the court.
Gotta love Fitz being Fitz…
1. Claims Team USA was “doubted and dismissed.”
2. Knows perfectly well that Draymond’s wingspan is 7-1, but thinks he can sneakily inflate it to 7-3 without anyone noticing.
Dude was born to be a used car salesman…
Draymond with key non-scoring plays down the stretch in a championship game. Still got it!
Javale McGee is a gold medalist!
That was a very fun game
Dame Time.
Lillard 93% FT shooter missing both? WTF??
Lillard, a 90% ft shooter, misses both /facepalm
Yikes
Draymond: it’s winning time.
