> In Baldwin’s limited time with the team, he has impressed with his basketball intellect and performances in individual workouts as he continues to recover from an ankle injury that cut his freshman season at Wisconsin-Milwaukee short. “I’ve been shocked by what I’ve seen in an exciting way,” one Warriors staffer said.

> Despite Baldwin’s setbacks, the team is already noticing his high level of confidence and professionalism.

> He has a long way to go, but the Warriors believe he can develop into a special player within their system.

> “He’s an exciting prospect,” one staffer said. “Very exciting.”

There is a world where PBJ is the best prospect on the Warriors. I'm not saying it's the world we live in just yet...but I'm not ruling it out either.

Since this is open thread, I think this is the perfect place and timing to post my mysterious spiritual journey with Warriors to the Championship.

Until last season, I had never prayed to God, asking my favorite team, Warriors, to win a game(s), let alone a championship. I just quietly wished God takes our side and helps us.

However, there were so many reasons I wanted Warriors to win the championship, completing a movie like story; the amazing individual stories of Wiggins , GPII, Klay, Otto, Bjelica, JP, Looney , JTA, and DLee, and as a bonus, Steph getting FMVP.

Then on April 27, before game 5 of first round against Denver, I casually checked my email and saw ‘Verse of the Day Image’ I am subscribing from YouVersion . It was 1 John 5:14 and the three words “ HE HEARS US” were standing out big. I did not put any meaning to it at the time but after Warriors closed the 1st round that night and seeing GPII playing really well, I decided to ‘pray’ to God for Warriors’ success, not just quietly ‘wishing’.

But then on May 3, The verse in the image was “ THE LORD IS CLOSE TO THE BROKENHEARTED AND SAVES THOSE WHO ARE CRUSHED IN SPIRIT.” The title of the email was “ the Verse of the Day Image - Isaiah 54:17”.

The game that night was game 2 of second round against Grizzlies, the game GPII got injured by Brooks causing everybody in Warriors world literally “BROKENHEARTED ”.

Now I got goosebumps, wanted to check back that verse, Isaiah 54:17 in the Bible but I found out it was completely different verse. Being bewildered, I checked my email for that Verse of the Day Image and sure, there was the word,’ BROKEN HEARTED ’ in the middle of the verse in the image but it was Psalms 34:18 !

Whoever created that image made a mistake embedding wrong verse !

By now I started thinking someone hacked my iPhone , found out I am a huge Warriors fan and a Christian, was playing pranks on me. But how did they know what would happen BEFORE the game started?

The hacker might have spooked himself.

Now I was more curious about what message I would get.

On May 4 , the very next day, the verse was from Psalm 37:4

“ Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you your heart’s desires.”

OK, it is telling me not to stay heartbroken, but take delight…

May 8, The Verse was from Isaiah 54:17 ( supposed to be on May 3) the keyword was

”….You will silence every voice raised up to accuse you……”

It was the day after the Game 3 when Ja Morant was injured and they accused our Jordan of causing the injury.

May 9, The verse in the Image was Isaiah 41:10. “ So do not FEAR, for I am with you; do not be DISMAYED. For I am your GOD. I will strengthen you and HELP YOU; I will UPHOLD YOU with my RIGHTEOUS RIGHT HAND.”

It was again BEFORE game 4 of the second round. It was very close game but Warriors won at the last minute thanks to Steph’s free draws, leading the series 3 -1

After this, I did not see any meaningful verses. I thought the prophetic verses happened to coincide with my intense desire and prayers.

Eventually Warriors advanced to Conference Finals.

May 26, The verse in the Image was John 14:1

“ Don’t let your heart be troubled. Believe in God;…”

This was BEFORE Game 5 of WCF and AFTER Warriors’ failing to sweep Mavericks in game 4. Warriors clinched Finals that night.

The mysterious messages were not just from ‘ Verse of the Day Image’ by YouVersion.

On June 3, the day after Warriors losing 1st game of Finals, I saw the picture of rainbow on‘ Our Daily Bread’ my morning QT booklet . The verse of that day was from Psalm 42:5 “ Put your hope in God, …”

The title was “ Spotting Rainbows of Hope”

and one sentence that brought my attention to was

“ .. we can trust that our hope is secured in Him no matter how downcast we feel in the moment.”

I mentioned this in my comment on DNHQ on that day.

I didn’t have a good feeling yesterday morning when I woke up from a bad dream in which my retainer broke in my mouth , and then found one of my two 4 years old comet gold fishes that I raised from eggs dead , and then the unexpected loss 😱

My retainer was OK when I woke up and the other comet is still alive. I saw a rainbow 🌈 picture on my morning QT booklet and read “Hope” this morning.

All will be well. 🙏

June 5, ‘Our Daily Bread ‘ Title : Confident in God. 1 John 5:14

“ this is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.”

Warriors won Game 2 of Finals

June 8, Verse of the Day Image : 1 Peter 5:6 “ So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor”

Steph was hurt late in 4th quarter and Warriors lost game 3.

June 9, the day after Game 3 , I was re-reading 1 Peter 5:6 and continued reading and to my excitement, the next verse (v.7) was

“ Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.”

News came later that Steph’ foot was OK and he can play.

June 10, Verse of the Day Image: Ephesians 2:10. The keywords “ ..God’s MASTERPEICE.”

Game 4, It was Steph’s MASTERPIECE !

Finally, on June 14, two days BEFORE Warriors won the championship, a banner of Verse of the Day from YouVersion appeared on my iPhone screen.

“ Give thanks to the lord for he is good! His faithful love endures forever”

1 Chronicles 16:34

Two days later, I was crying, Steph was crying. I was so proud of every Warriors.

The mystery still remains. While I was writing this, I checked back all the messages I received. The four messages on Apr 27, May 3, May 4, and May 9 were all changed to different verses on the source site, YouVersion. I did save all emails and screenshots I had taken. It’s too bad I cannot upload those proofs. If anybody wants to see, let me know I will find a way to show them. The messages from May 26 and later are all matching with verses in the source.

Thanks for reading this long, clumsy writing, if anybody read this.

Interesting article quoting an unnamed exec saying that if the Warriors should part with one of Wiggs, Poole, Dray and Klay, it should be Klay, but he might give them a hometown discount.

I never tire of repeatedly rewatching the Warriors playoff and finals games. I still can’t believe Klay missed both free throws in game 1 with Memphis with Warriors only up by 1.

Listening to Timpf's podcast on the PatBev trade, it seems like PB would've been an amazing fit with the Dubs. One of his top offensive talents is the ability to attack defenses that are breaking down (e.g. after a Steph or JP drive). BBIQ, amazing ASS-TOV ratio in those situations. Also great 3 & D of course, but 'twas not to be. Oh well, I'll just eat my popcorn and watch the drama in LA.

Why does everyone hate the Lakers? Did people hate the Lakers forever, like back when Kareem and Magic played? Did everyone hate the Lakers when Kobe and Shaq played? Or is it just the modern Lakers that everyone seems to hate. Or is it just LeBron? Honestly I don’t understand it.
