Woof, I’ve finished a long E1P about the fourth quarter of The Steph Game™ but NBC has amazingly harsh copyright terms — basically your video is completely banned if you use any clips. Most companies, like the NBA, are just happy to take all the proceeds.
Of course, I think my videos are a textbook example of fair use, but I don’t have the lawyers to defend that in court…
Working on editing it to get past the ban… but I’m not hopeful it will stay up long. NBC probably has minions constantly searching YT for any Olympics videos…
Is there a middle ground where you post it as private/unlisted so that dnhq has access but it’s less likely to get picked up by NBC sponsor scrubbers? I don’t know much about how this kind of enforcement works.
If it’s based on YouTube content ID instead, the automated scanners might flag it immediately regardless
Noooo. Thanks for all the effort, however long it lasts.
On the bright side, if they take it down, it can join the annals of other lost masterpieces, like the Colossus of Rhodes, or that manuscript Hemingway’s wife left on the train.
Lol, the women saying they didn't want to almost f--- things up like the men did:
“Everyone wants our best shot,” Breanna Stewart said. “You saw the way Serbia came out and played our men, and making sure that wasn’t a situation that happened today and really being on our p’s and q’s and doing everything to get the job done today.”
“My motivation was: I did not want to be in that situation,” A’ja Wilson added. “By any means necessary, let’s not be in that situation. Because you start to put the game in a lot of different people’s hands and I don’t really like that. For us, we’re always about controlling our own destiny.”
"Team USA is planning to start all-time leading scorer Kevin Durant vs. France in Saturday's Gold Medal game at the Paris Olympics, per sources. Jrue Holiday is expected to come off the USA bench."
Been messing with the trade machine a lot recently and I'm starting to think it's very likely we stay pat with this roster until the deadline at least. I doubt we'll even make a smaller scale trade. I don't see any deals out there right now that we'd realistically consider (at least IMO) that's worth giving up assets for and compromise our ability to be potential buyers in February
In that scenario our only shot is if Steph puts on his LeGM cap and convince Giannis to force his way here because he only wants to play with the best shooter to ever do it
I'm not holding my breath on that or for any other major stars really. I'm fully prepared to roll with this team for the entire season... maybe make a mid tier PJ Washington type of move at the deadline if this team performs well enough to convince the FO to add reinforcements
"Free agent F Svi Mykhailiuk has agreed on a four-year, $15 million deal with the Utah Jazz, agent Michael Lelchitski of @SIGSports tells ESPN. He played 41 games for the NBA champion Boston Celtics last season."
> However much you think his mere presence on the court is worth, it can only justify so many missed shots before defenses potentially stop overreacting to his movement
Maybe Serbia read this article, F'd around, and found out?
I know Steph went crazy shooting the ball yesterday but his defense throughout the game was underrated man. He handled his matchups well and played excellent team defense. He also channeled his inner Podz with those rebounds. Overall just had a very strong all around game. Made the right reads every time. It was a bummer seeing him set timely screens and clearing space with his gravity but some of the other guys aren't used to reading the game that fast so we couldn't take advantage of it earlier on
That three that Booker hit in the fourth quarter was completely generated by Curry, he took out two defenders from the play and allowed Devin fucking Booker to get a wide open standstill three at the top of the arc.
Booker repaid him with a nice Bogut screen on the layup after his steal though.
He set a killer one for KD in that 2nd half but Bam missed the read from the post. That's the type of pass that Draymond would have lasered within a split second. Makes me appreciation Warriors ball at its peak
Agreed. I haven't rewatched the game, but the only genuine mistake I remember him making on defense was right after his heat check miss, he was a little sluggish getting back and then made a half-hearted closeout to the three point line to give up a wide open look that went in. Other than that moment, his rotations were crisp and he was getting contests on shot attempts (many of which were going in because Serbia was incredibly hot, but the contests were pretty good).
It did feel like he could have maybe done more with some of Ant’s minutes, or White’s. But it’s not like there were that many of those, and by the time it was clear they weren’t quite feeling it, it was arguably too late...
Ant was trying too hard and gambling too much... he had a bad game, and pretty much anybody on the roster would have given better minutes. I do, however, wonder what makes Ant more deserving of minutes than Tatum... White and Jrue, I understand, they're super glue guys.
And for the Celtics fans wringing their hands about how Kerr is keeping Tatum on the bench because he's a Celtic, they sure are ignoring the fact that Jrue is in the starting lineup, lol.
Who will take the most heat if team USA loses? The coaches. I would say they have a pretty well qualified staff. That staff is definitely going to play the guys they think they need out there to win. Sorry mom, but JT is getting a taste of real life that most people go through.
Sometimes you just don’t get picked for reasons that you may not agree with.
I wonder if they played him a token few minutes if that would have avoided this. Nope.
"The San Antonio Spurs and Brandon Boston Jr. have agreed to a deal, league sources told @hoopshype. The 22-year-old guard will compete for a roster spot. He spent the past three seasons with the Los Angeles Clippers and averaged 6.2 points in 12.9 minutes per game."
Kerr is probably the best coach for the 2024 squad. The last quarter KD talked about them just playing basketball and doing some sort of mind meld where everyone knew where to go. A more controlling coach would have called timeouts to run set plays. But Kerr understands a player's mentality and experienced enough coaching the dynasty that he just let off on the reins and let the players decide the outcome themselves.
I've posted an E1P about the fourth quarter of The Steph Game™. There is no doubt NBC will try to take it down soon, so watch it while you can.

NBC = No Ball Credit , they do not know ball

The “good” news is they aren’t going to be in that situation because the global woman’s game is way behind the men’s game.
It's probably better for the overall global women's game to go to 3X3 and ditch 5X5. For international play
Why do you think that?
Consolidated talent. It would make tournaments more competitive.
But why ditch 5x5? Isn't it a standard?

More Boston disrespect! Clearly a Kerr vendetta!
(kidding of course)
Verily Kerr has a vision of starting KD full of vim and vigour to validate, nay, vindicate his vast venture toward olympic victory.
I heard Kerr also switched in Bouillabaisse on New England Clam chowder day at the Olympic Village cafeteria... he just hates Boston so much.
And Cassoulet for Boston Baked Beans.
The indignity!

Depending on how things go up until the trade deadline, maybe Giannis *does* become an option again.
If Giannis becomes available, the Warriors will easily get outbid by other teams.
Unlikely. This will be his target spot and several of our players will be covered by then
"This will be his target spot" How can we know that? Because we want it that way?
Meaning: we are unlikely to get outbid, and our players will be coveted
In that scenario our only shot is if Steph puts on his LeGM cap and convince Giannis to force his way here because he only wants to play with the best shooter to ever do it
The problem with obtaining anybody with a max contract is that the Warriors don't have an equivalent contract to swap other than Steph.
I think that now that we are under the apron, we can aggregate a few contracts to match one big contract
I'm not holding my breath on that or for any other major stars really. I'm fully prepared to roll with this team for the entire season... maybe make a mid tier PJ Washington type of move at the deadline if this team performs well enough to convince the FO to add reinforcements

I'm glad he signed with the Jazz and not the Warriors as there wold be no chance in hell I would be able to pronounce or type his name.

REPORT: Jonathan Kuminga is seeking a $224M max extension from the Warriors, per
@JakeLFischer

Not surprising but no way he gets it unless he breaks out in a big way this year.
Fair enough on his part but he's still all potential. NBA teams need to stop giving everyone maxes just cause they are eligible.
30 million per year seems more reasonable in the modern NBA and that's life changing money
I mean, negotiations have to start somewhere
"I want you to pay me the most!
"Well I want to pay you the least!"
"Hmm, it seems we are evenly matched..."

He also set some trademark Curry screens; the GOAT point guard screener. I don't know why nobody other than Apricot ever gives him credit for it.
The Van Gundies, as much as they annoy me sometimes, routinely call him out for his screen setting and rebounding.
That three that Booker hit in the fourth quarter was completely generated by Curry, he took out two defenders from the play and allowed Devin fucking Booker to get a wide open standstill three at the top of the arc.

DWade complimented him, so at least the real hoppers understand.

I guess Tatum isn't going to be demanding a trade to the Warriors any time soon.:
