stank face, but like, actually stanky: https://dubnationhq.com/p/postgame-die-by-the-three-thread

We are guaranteed 9th seed or better at this point. Mavs can't catch up to us and we have tie breaker over OKC even we lose the upcoming OKC game (will end with better conference record).

So there is your silver lining.

I don’t think I’ve seen Steph’s shots blocked so many times.

Or klay’s

So,

Disturbing thought: GPII and Kuminga were not that effective on D.

Good thought: I thought Poole kinda was good. that's a fairly long streak of OK to dominant Poole games.

Expand full comment

Kuminga was not effective on D? How so? (I didn't watch the game)

Expand full comment

He wasn't really getting in anyone's way, pulled down 1 rebound in 23 minutes. His usual feistiness either wasn't there, or he was just outmuscled a bit (not sure which).

Kuminga’s rebounding needs a lot of improvement. Everybody in the team had more than his ONErebound.

Expand full comment

Especially on such a crappy shooting night. There were a lot! of rebounds to be had.

Expand full comment

At least Kyrie lost.

Expand full comment

And the Wolves, and the Grizzlies, and the...Kings?

When do we get Wiggins back? His defense was missed tonight. He could've done something about MPJ's shooting.

Expand full comment

Wiggs would always be nice, but this was still a pretty easy 10-15 point win if the Splash Trio had just shot slightly below average from 3 instead of 7-33.

Expand full comment

yep

Expand full comment

As you know, he's back in the Bay Area but he'll have to get back to game shape. Wouldn't think that would take too long for Wiggs, tho.

Expand full comment

Without Wiggins I don’t want to see any team with a player like MPJ or KD in the playoffs we don’t have an answer for that kind of player atm.

The non-Splash Warriors shot 25/49 from the field and 12/12 from the line. They didn't make 3's (2/12), but that's pretty good for offense. It was Steph and Klay who killed us today :-(.

Expand full comment

Splash Bros were a combined 7-30 from 3pt land. Does not happen often....everyone else came through....Steph was not himself from the get go....They do have a slew of guys with a lot of hops and that hurt us both ways.....

Expand full comment

Steph shot 2-14 on 3s. I think most teams will lose a game when a player shoots like that.

Expand full comment

No doubt, that is like...14 percent....

Expand full comment

All I got to say is good thing everyone else lost...we slip cozily back in 6th place, one win ahead of Lollakers with 38 losses.....

Expand full comment

we can never get it rolling at the same time lol. JP finally bounces back and steph/klay goes into a slump. better start clicking soon fellas!

Expand full comment

Some people are trashing Klay and Dray.

Really? Steph air balls a three to wrap up his bad shooting night. Klay hits the tough 3.

This loss is on Dray and Steph - TOVs and bad shooting.

Expand full comment

The Steph three was blocked, no?

Expand full comment

yes it was - klay stank pretty much the entire game along with dray and steph - this is on the OPGs and kerr for playing lambd waay too many minutes instead of kuminga

Expand full comment

I though Lamb was fine in his minutes — probably better than JK.

Expand full comment

he had untimely TOs in the 3rd or 4th quarter

Expand full comment

Rather play the kings then the suns on the road, we are fine

Expand full comment

we are going to get f** on the road in any match up - so I guess it does not matter who we play

Expand full comment

Nah. Ws probably handle the Kings in 5 or 6.

Expand full comment

No we are not, regular season is one thing playoffs is another, our strategy of stopping the paint while giving up threes translates to the playoffs better since role players don't shoot as well

Expand full comment

Was thinking the same. Pretty big silver lining, given a win might have started to lock us in to #5.

Also: no injuries.

Expand full comment

Low-key was obvious we didn't want to win, I just watched donte be used as the roll man more then kuminga when the nuggets didn't have a rim protector all game lol

Expand full comment

TBH playing away in Sac could probably be home court advantage lol

Expand full comment

4-0,4-1 guaranteed against the kings

I reinstate: Denver is on a different altitude. But the Dubs are gutsy. The WCF is possible

Nothing can replace play-off and 4x championship experience.

Expand full comment

Come on, don't be spoiled

Expand full comment

Did I over-reinstate? mea culpa

Expand full comment

I'm a little annoyed at not calling a TO (not sure if we had one) to get Poole in there. He's been solid all game.

Expand full comment

Got a wide open Klay look from 3. Can't complain about anything on the last possession except the miss.

It was a great shot, but Klay's been pretty bricky this game (other than that miracle from the corner).

Edit: 9-28. That's 32% from the field.

He’s due for a game winner

Kerr was on the same level as curry Klay and dray

Again - its the OGs who sucked in this one not the young'uns

A++++ game for Donte, probably his best of the year. Too bad pretty much everyone else (except Loon) was subpar to bad.

Expand full comment

I thought Poole was fine.

Expand full comment

Jokic didn’t play and we couldn’t even capitalize on it. Denver’s supporting cast outplayed us.
