Messy, but it counts! Warriors pull off shaky win over Timberwolves
Another big night from Klay Thompson as Golden State comes from behind in the 4th
The Golden State Warriors got a big night from Klay Thompson - and they needed it to hold off the Minnesota Timberwolves. Trailing as the fourth quarter started, the Warriors came roaring back with a double dose of excellence featuring strong offense and defensive performances across the roster.
Could it have been cleaner, or more impressive? Sure. But with three of the team’s normal starting lineup out of tonight’s game, this was a huge win for a Warriors team that has had to fight and claw for every inch of success this season.
Thompson follows up his big scoring outing in the previous name to lay out 32 points in 33 minutes. Kevon Looney willed the team to victory with some timely rebounding and stout defensive efforts down the stretch. 12 points and 17 rebounds would have handed him the coveted Warrior Wonder award easily, if not for Thompson’s impressive Splash Brothering ways.
Remember, it’s not just the Warriors’ fan base that is wondering what the heck we are watching sometimes. Sure, starting the 4th at a deficit wasn’t ideal. And the Warriors almost tricked this one away - with some head-scratching calls from referee Tony Brothers - but they didn’t. A win is a win, and though this is one that comes with more nervous chuckles than I would have liked, it counts.

Warrior Wonder
I mean, if it’s not Klay, then there will be a riot. But the Warriors had five players in double digits, with huge contributions from Donte DiVincenzo and the aforementioned Looney so it will be a chill riot. Still, we don’t cut corners here at DNHQ, so please make your votes below.

Warriors sorely need to find a way to keep DDV. He really knows how o play basketball. He should be handling the ball in the last two minutes instead of JP, Klay, Kuminga, or Lamb. The last 30 sec was frightening. Don't they practice this stuff? Utah game ending should have mandated it every practice.

"UPDATE (2/27/23) at 4:17 p.m. ET: Warriors head coach Steve Kerr says MRI came back clean on Draymond Green's knee. He is considered questionable for Tuesday's game. "
Woo! I think... haven't seen it anywhere else, and not sure how much I trust FanNation, but it's a pretty unambiguous update.
