That depth chart is off in a few cases and does not reflect how versatile this team is. You pretty much have to show five deep (and make some corrections) to see what we have. Mulder is a 6'3" guard, not a SF. (Of course he and/or JTA might not make the team.) Oubre, Lee, and Wiggins are wings who play 2/3. Add Bazemore, another 2/3 (who can defend - YES!). Poole can play 1/2, although with Bazemore added, maybe he will mostly play PG. Looney is a 4/5, not just a 4. Green of course plays 5, although maybe Kerr wants to reduce the pounding Green takes. And I don't see Mannion on the chart; are we assuming he starts in G League?

Fun fact: If you combine Wanamaker’s two regular and post-seasons, he’s a 41% 3-point shooter (85 for 208) in the NBA. (See? Told you it was fun.)

I thought Brad W. would be a great fit, I mentioned it yesterday, and I like the Bazemore homecoming a ton. Probably leaves GR3 out in the cold as that puts us at 15 without Nico Manion, if my math is right? For them to sign GR3 or Gasol they would definitely have to dump someone, and I'm not sure it's necessary at this point. I like the idea below from jzalvarado, of holding onto that DPE and if the team is in contention near the trade deadline and feels it needs to use it, then sure, use it. But that tax bill keeps getting bigger!! #godubs

Dang it.. LGW had double posted my replies twice so I'll try it as a standalone comment.

6'3-6'4 combo guards who can defend a bit and who can shoot the 3 ball at a decent clip has become out new 'Center' position

By my count: Damion Lee, K. Bazemore, Wanamaker, Nico Mannion, and Mulder.

We are still extremely thin at the SF spot (a problem dating to last year) and I'm not entirely sold on Paschall as the backup 4. However, id rather carry 5 backup 'combo' guards than carry yet another C on the roster (unless we make a trade or cut/stretch Smailigic)

Sign GR3 and call it a day. Save the DPE in season if we are in contention. This Gasol pipe dream was understandable 1.5 years ago. We just drafted a Center, paid a very serviceable switchy Center 5 plus a year, got another serviceable athletic center at the minimum, and will probably end up carrying yet another Center because the Lacob family felt that they too could be GMs. This "Well the team likes to carry alot of Centers" excuse that keeps being thrown out doesn't make it right.
