Normally I’d be delivering you a piping hot game recap from last night’s Warriors action, but today we’re gonna go a different way.
The legend Kobe Bryant and his daughter are being honored today in a memorial service at the Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles.
Steve Kerr says Draymond Green, Stephen Curry and GM Bob Myers will represent the Warriors at Kobe Bryant’s memorial on Monday in Los Angeles.
So yeah, if anybody from the LGW community wants to share anything on that, here’s an open thread.
God bless y’all.
Was never a fan of Kobe, but somehow, reading about it that fateful Sunday morning, it hit me hard. Even more tougher to find out later that Gianna died with him made how mortality much more real - if a basketball superstar can easily be taken like that away from us, it made me realize how much we need to balance our lives against even the most perceivably important things.
May Kobe, Gianna, and the other victims of that helicopter crash rest in peace, may those who grieve find their own peace and closure in time. We thank and respect Kobe for his contributions to make basketball better, for setting an example of how competitive fire can translate into continued excellence, for showing us that even going through fire and shadow, one can emerge a better person.
Kobe was a great dad who was also good at basketball.
