Just wanted you to know that we really, really like all this, but we get so involved in watching the dunks and reading and writing comments that we forget to press that little heart button at the top. You should at least consider every vote and comment as a like...

#FIVE for ferocity.

#TWELVE for me. Cavs closing in, draped on HB on the way down. I don't remember if I stood and yelled when it happened, but I should have!

#5 points also given for the gorgeous dime by D Lee

#12 Because Cavs. And because they were trying to hurt him on the way down.

Funniest thing I’ve seen all day. What it’s like guarding Steph: https://www.reddit.com/r/warriors/comments/xgu0vd/guarding_steph_be_like/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

#FIVE is electrifying. Barnes swooped in with such incredible speed, without hesitation or deviation, straight for the hoop. It was like he put the hammer down from rafters.

The other dunk is a very tough basket when the team needed it. It's definitely a great play. But it's hard to be iconic while being smothered by two giants.

#FIVE

It was the determining factor when I was undecided on whether to get a HB or Dray jersey in their rookie year, and that dunk sold me on a Falcon uni

I just enjoyed playing all the "Locked On Celtics" podcasts for the Finals. First of all, it's enjoyable because the host (with decent media credentials) really makes no bones about being a Celtics fan... none of this "I just root for good stories" stuff until after the ending. It kind of goes like this:

+ Game 1: "Only three more wins and the Celtics are champions!"

+ Game 2: "I don't know about those refs."

+ Game 3: "Only two more wins and the Celtics are champions!"

+ Game 4: "The Celtics need to forget about the refs and focus on playing."

+ Game 5: "I think I can string enough what-ifs together to put them right back in this one."

+ Game 6: "Ah well, good season. Nobody expected them to even be here."

He hit on that last one a lot. Never mentioned that nobody expected the Warriors to be there either.

Good schadenfreude listen. Joe Bob sez "Check it out!"

Also, did we ever get a bracket to know which dunks are in the tourney? Did Steph get a dunk in the mix for getting it through the rim?

Tough choice, but I went with #FIVE. I actually think the other dunk is harder and more impressive, but if the measure is how iconic, I'll go with the surprise of that dunk and the staredown after. It was like Clark Kent deciding he wanted to flex on someone.

FWIW, I don't think either of these dunks will survive the Wiggins dunks and Baron Davis on AK47.

#FIVE. Maybe not as iconic, because the other was in the Finals against the Cavs, (tied 2-2, nonetheless!)

But five is just a better dunk. All context aside, that's the one I'd prefer to watch and get more excited about if I were to see them in real time. I think context does matter, but in this case it just doesn't get 12 across the finish line.

I prefer #12 for importance (pivotal moment in the pivotal Finals game), skill (tough to maneuver around the two contesting defenders) and degree of difficulty (set defenders).

But, #FIVE is just plain more famous and provokes awe regardless of context. It was a dunk that announced that Barnes was no ordinary rookie and he could play an important role in the playoffs right away (which he did) and could blossom into a star (which he never did but still).

#FIVE for the force, the reach, the absolute brutality of the slam right over the defender. The other one has the nice playoff moment thing going for it but the finesse of going between the defenders and the ball just barely getting over the rim subtracts from the impact.

#FIVE Who doesn't enjoy an emphatic dunk on the Twolves by one of our young athletic wings?
