Honorary Warriors For Life? Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jason Richardson, and Leandro Barbosa
Relax, this is just for fun and to remember some great players.
Honorary Warriors For Life
The concept is simple. There are some players who are not in the Warriors organization, but Warriors fans will still root for anyway (as long as no Warriors interests are at stake). So they are not a part of Dub Nation, but they still are welcomed into Dub Nation. This is very often because they are former Warriors players, but not always.
More details are included in our master list of all those voted Honorary Warriors For Life so far and the queue of nominees. In short, getting >75% support achieves Honorary Warrior For Life; >50% support of voters who know them achieves Honorary Warrior.
Giannis Antetokounmpo
Dub Nation has been pining for this MVP to bolt Milwaukee and join the Warriors. We also have a soft spot for him for picking Stephen Curry first when he was All-Star captain, which Steph rewarded with this absurd alley-oop.
Giannis has also been openly humble about his MVP case, claiming not to care about it, in stark contrast to certain other bearded players who are obsessed with MVP. In fact, Giannis has been taking jabs at Harden and Harden has been taking bigger jabs back. Here’s the latest round from today:

So the poll results were very friendly to the reigning MVP.

Well 73.4% / Poor 4.6% / Don’t care either way 20.2% / Don’t know who they are 1.7%.
Dub Nation has lots of affection for the Greek Freak, but he falls juuuust short of the 75% mark. He is hereby awarded Honorary Warrior.
Jason Richardson
A fan favorite during his tenure 2001-2007 with the Warriors. He was drafted and home-grown, and was a highlight through some grim times, especially for his Slam Dunk Championships.
He then was a pivotal player in We Believe.
So naturally, the Warriors had to trade him right after We Believe. In those days, we couldn’t have nice things.

Well 78.5% / Poor 3.2% / Don’t care either way 14.6% / Don’t know who they are 3.8%.
J-Rich is a slam dunk above the 75% threshold, so we award him Honorary Warrior For Life!
Leandro Barbosa
Speedy change of pace scorer off the bench for the 2014-15 and 2015-16 Warriors. He might be most remembered for this:
and then
During the 2016 Finals, I wrote:
I call Leandro Barbosa the God of Chaos. With him on the court, weird plays happen, things get helter-skelter, his speed makes unusual events follow. Sometimes it's chaotic good, sometimes it's chaotic evil. Tonight, it was all chaotic good.
Here he runs down the wing in early offense. J.R. Smith is supposed to be guarding him but he lopes along at half-speed until he figures it out too late. Barbosa sheds J.R. with a pump fake, and then -- you can't have an LB play without some oddity -- instead of taking the corner 3, he gets a give and go to the wing for a long two, which I guess he prefers. Chaos. It works anyway.

Well 93.2% / Poor 0% / Don’t care either way 5.6% / Don’t know who they are 1.2%.
Dub Nation still loves the guy. Leandro Barbosa gonna be Honorary Warrior For Life.

Giannis would look great in a dubs jersey but it would break my little dubs heart if we had to trade Klay . If management isn’t sold on Wismen , or Anthony Edwards . Maybe we can trade down to a team who does and take that teams draft pick next year to bundle . Anybody check out this Obi Toppin kid? Shooting lights out from the three 6’9 great NBA build under athletic looks like he could contribute right in for the bat . With Him Paschall, Marquises I think we have a VERY athletic team which has been lacking
In other news, I have a new version (v6) of the LGW bookmarklet out. I added buttons at the bottom for mobile device navigation -- but I haven't tested this on actual mobile devices yet.
