Honorary Warriors For Life? David Lee and DeMarcus Cousins
Don’t take it seriously, it’s just a chance to remember players.
Honorary Warriors For Life
The concept is simple. There are some players who are not in the Warriors organization, but Warriors fans will still root for anyway (as long as no Warriors interests are at stake). So they are not a part of Dub Nation, but they still are welcomed into Dub Nation. This is very often because they are former Warriors players, but not always.

David Lee
One of the first big free agents to join the Warriors, he began the team turnaround. By the time of the 2014-15 championship, David Lee and Stephen Curry were the only member left from the bitter losing days.
David Lee was a lock for double digit points in the post and double digit rebounds. In addition to being a double-double machine, he was a savvy player and gracefully accepted the rise of Draymond Green in 2014-15 when he took over Lee’s starting spot with his superior defense, and Steve Kerr dramatically reduced Lee’s role. Lee still made big spot contributions in the playoffs, stepping up to stabilize the team in the Grizzlies and Cavaliers series. He also famously bought the whole team Chipotle.
Well 84% / Poor 1% / Don’t care either way 13% / Don’t know who they are 2%.
Dub Nation remembers him well with stirring support in the polls, and we award him the status of Honorary Warrior For Life!
DeMarcus Cousins
For a while, DMC was a lock to be one of the superstars of the future, but a series of injuries has put his career in question.
He shockingly joined the Warriors in 2018-19, as no team wanted to offer him a big contract due to his questionable health history.
After missing most of the season, he was an active bench presence, and he showed some comfort in the motion offense. I went nuts with videos trying to figure out how DMC was going to fit in with the team.
Of course, it all went wrong in the playoffs, as DMC’s body broke down.
Nonetheless, Dub Nation remembers him fondly.
Well 71.6% / Poor 1.2% / Don’t care either way 25.9% / Don’t know who they are 1.2%.
DMC comfortably qualifies as an Honorary Warrior. Good luck and good health, DMC.
I always thought better of Ben Affleck for looking like David Lee.
Like them both, but Lee is especially dear to me. His professionalism, demonstrated both in his classy handling of the Green promotion and his readiness to supply some toughness against the bullying Cavs. He helped unlock that series as I recall, and helped the nice guy/a little soft Ws to fight back.
