I am Liking any comment that I can interpret as a vote. Some of your comments are too vague to be interpreted as Yes or No, and that is perfectly fine, but I am not counting them and I am NOT giving a Like.

You can clarify your vote by posting another comment that clearly says Yes or No.

Is this even a question? NBA Champion DLee is a Warriors for Life!

I voted a non fully committed yes, for reasons that our Dnhq family has so eloquently debated. I'm thinking if we can vote on a scale instead of a yes/no, wouldn't that give a more accurate sentiment/rating towards the player?

The only Warriors for life should be those who played their whole careers with Golden State. The rest is some kind of emotional response to a player who is no longer with the team for whatever reason. Why do we do these silly things?

Trying to read back through the thread. Seemed like I missed a lot. So is Damian Lee opening a Mexican Restaurant? If so, I will vote for that.

YES. He's literally family to the greatest Warriors player ever. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0RC4ZAbWjc0

He's always welcome back at the facility, no doubt. Great guy, Kerr loved him. I had really hoped that he would get an opportunity to shine and earn a bigger contract this offseason, but his (multiple) bouts with COVID threw a wrench in that. I'll root for him everywhere unless he's on the Lakers or Grizz.

My definition for WFL: Does he get passed the bouncer at the Warriors' players only underground club? Oh hell yes! Is that Baze trying to sneak in? Oh hell naw!

I feel a fondness for Damion that I expect to endure, even on the Suns, which I think for me means Yes

also a special fuck you to all the Lee haters on Twitter, dude was a great third string guard

I vote No. He was a regular season 3rd stringer on a championship team, and had a paltry handful of playoff minutes that didn't impact a single posteason series. Sure, before that he gritted and grinded himself into a rotation spot on a play-in team, but neither of those check the box for me. I guess I'm a small-HWFL kind of guy. I feel like the player either needs to be a significant regular season contributor for the majority of his career or play a key role on a significant playoff run. DL checks neither box for me. Hell, it feels like Bell or McCaw had more postseason impact than DL, and I'm not voting either of those two in.

No

While he was “lovable bench player”, and I won’t actively root against him, I would say Im happy he is still in the league but but I’m mostly indifferent for his career moving forward

I vote yes. He’s done enough in a supporting role. He was ready to step in at a moment’s notice. He knew his role and played it well. Didn’t complain. He was here for multiple years. He had a fun flare that made it easy to root for him.

Hmmm, let's see: potentially career-derailing injuries, grinded his way through rehab, the G league and 10 day contracts to become a rotation player, then stayed positive and ready as his role fluctuated throughout the season? Sounds like the template for an HWFL to me.
