C. There were a lot of stupid things that they could have dabbled in (hitching the franchise to injury-prone AD, for example) but didn't. Yaxel was probably the right draft pick, although we won't really know for a number of years. But not taking a swing in Steph's final years, as vignette notes below, makes it hard to give a grade higher than a C.
What the Warriors didn't do this off-season is handcuff themselves. They still have a lot of flexibility. But this off-season, Giannis got traded for a light package, Lebron signed for 4 million, Jaylen Brown got traded for a very light package. And the Warriors biggest moves were keeping Al, Melt, and Dray.
In a vacuum, I understand each decision and approve of most of the Warriors decisions. Yes, you can strike out if you take big swings. But you can also strikeout looking. And I feel like they're in a 2 strike count and don't seem to have much interest in swinging.
I gave it a C. I never thought we were getting Giannis or Kawhi or AD (who would have promptly gotten injured anyway). Maybe Bron if he wanted to stay a short flight from L.A. but I hated waiting interminably for him. However, I can't say I had good solutions.
If Yaxel shows out and Brandon Williams gives us some of the sort of performances we saw in his highlights video and can improve his 3-point shooting enough that defenses have to at least guard him, and if... if... yeah, a lot of ifs with this team.
I certainly expected more and i am sure SK did also in saying we needed to br yoonger fater and bigger. However, I think KP is a Star, bp and WR improved a lot and we made a good draft pick. But a trifecta of mm jb sc and kp all healthy and most every else too. A 4 or 5fecta. Asking a lot

I think Giannis was traded for an extraordinary haul in the modern CBA.
To me, the biggest offseason move was signing Porzingis to a reasonable short term contract.
But I agree that they deserve a gentleman's C for the reasons you outlined.
